Good Morning Pet Parents!

This week I wanted to focus on nutrition because what we feed our pets makes such a big difference in their overall wellness.

Like us, pets need a balanced diet to thrive. For dogs, look for a high-quality kibble that lists meat as the first ingredient (avoid fillers like corn or wheat). Cats need wet food for moisture since they don't drink enough water on their own. Be sure to feed them at regular mealtimes rather than leaving food out all day. Portion sizes are also important - don't forget to adjust amounts as your pet ages or becomes more active.

Physical exercise is so crucial for dogs both physically and mentally. Even just 20 minutes a day of playtime or exploring the backyard does wonders. Cats need interactive time too - tease them with feather toys or try gentle leash training if they're comfortable with it. An idle pet is more prone to weight gain.

And since we're talking health, don't forget your regular vet visits! Annual checkups allow them to catch any potential problems early. Vaccines and preventative medication like flea/tick treatments also help keep pets protected.

Any other pet parents noticing seasonal allergies kicking in? It's that time of year again. Talk to your vet about daily medication or natural remedies to soothe itchy skin. A bath with an oatmeal shampoo can also provide relief. Our furry friends don't love pollen and dander any more than we do!

Hope you found some helpful reminders to keep all your pets fit and happy. Let me know if you have any other questions! Have a great rest of your week.
