RE: key to web3 mass adoption: stop sounding like a degen and just use the tech

The problem I have with Hive-Engine based NFTs is that they have virtually NO functionality. Well, NFTShowroom at least let's you have unlocked text. But with EVM based NFTs, you can do so much more with them because they are based on easily callable smart contracts.

But I agree that people need to use the tech that is out here for the use cases to really shine.

Sort:

Yeah, Hive-engine NFTs might be more limited, but I also think that the future of Web3 is multichain as opposed to one chain that rules them all. If EVM-based NFTs are more versatile, let's use those.

Hive is still amazing for threadcasts and paying Lightning invoices through Keychain/V4V combo.

Yeah, I am about to rebuild BlockTunes where it will be EVM based with several different blockchains. I'll still have the Hive side of things in the background because I have already paid for the existence of it, but the overall Hive community hasn't accepted it as I had hoped and the MUSIC token has gone to basically zero, so my attention will be on the EVM chains and trying to get more users from other areas of the space.

I believe in piggy-backing off the blockchains that have been around for longer and harnessing their name recognition to build our projects, so more power to you; sounds like a smart move.

This is the part of the reason I almost always focus on talking about Bitcoin when making in-real-life videos of myself paying Lightning invoices with v4v.

Everybody has heard of bitcoin. Can't say the same for HIVE.

sooo... I just use the tech.

Yeah, when I talk to people outside the space, I really only talk about Bitcoin and and maybe talk about Ethereum or EVM DEFI since there is SO much more liquidity in that side of the space. Hell, just one liquidity pool on just one of those chains on one of those DEFI platforms is likely to have more than the entire marketcap of Hive, lol.
