The world of AI is growing in leaps and bounds and revolutionizing practically every sphere that it touches. A few years ago robots performing surgeries was in the realm of science fiction however today doctors use robotic arms to perform precision surgeries that too sitting remotely in another part of the world.

However today we are looking at AI powered health care agents that would have AI powered empathy built into these agents.

This is the plan that is being implemented by a collaboration between NVIDIA and Hippocratic AI to bring to life AI powered healthcare agents that would be neither short of time nor empathy.

The Future of medicine looks promising

The field of medicine is all about finding solutions and often it borrows tech from different spheres and this time it is AI that is coming to the aid of health care professionals.

No matter what part of the world you live whenever you interact with a medical caregiver such as a nurse.
Now AI driven tech developed by NVIDIA and implemented by Hippocratic AI would create the opportunity to reduce the time needed to receive a response from these human nurses.
Looking at them from the side of the medical team would boost their productivity as they can be deployed and put into a 24X7 service mode without getting tired, irritated or feeling sleep deprived.
They are designed to provide a faster response as compared to a real human.

Empathy plays a big role in getting treated

The interaction between a patient and a medical nurse has an important element of empathy. Patients need and expect empathy to be an essential part of their interaction with a nurse.
The AI implementation would make sure the patient gets all the attention and also ensure that these interactions are not short of empathy.

How have these digital agents been performing?

Before any new tech is deployed in the field it has to be extensively tested to see if it even works.
With this intent it has been extensively tested by as many as 1000 registered nurses and 100 medical doctors in the US.
The results came as a pleasant surprise. Being evaluated on various parameters such as
the impact of drugs on lab values as well as the detecting toxic doses.
Besides these analytical qualities the AI agents scored even better when creating the human connection with patients.

Here is a video that demonstrates such an interaction

There is a global shortage of healthcare workers and the offering from NVIDIA and Hippocratic AI would aim to fill this shortage gap by their AI agents.

With generative AI being in the field of medicine we may see that care of higher quality can be delivered even without human interaction. While this trend grows we may see a trend of AI agents assisting human caregivers in non critical tasks. Would they next move to the realm of critical tasks that need human judgement is a matter that can trigger an ethical debate.

I have seen too much scifi to not like this 😂

Going down that route the plot has to have a twist. How about some aliens using a trojan to deploy a virus that turns the army of AI nurses into killer machines.
