Yeah, ok not Santa. That's actually something I ordered a few days ago. Here, have a look:
Yep, my first silver of the year! A Morgan dollar and a Peace dollar!
And if you take a closer look there's something else in the pic! I guess it's the opposite of precious metals..
Hyperinflation paper money, lel!
Two hundred million Zimbabwe dollars π
This back note was issued in 2008, when the country was hit really hard by inflation. This period began in February 2007 and lasted all the way to 2009 when the country eventually said fuck it and started using foreign currencies till finally switching to the USD in 2015. At its peak,, inflation was at 79.6 billion percent. Yeah,you read that right. It was so high it stopped making any sense LMAO. Prices probably changed by the second. Oh, and the number above is just the official number, before the country stopped filling inflation statistics before it just became impossible to do so π
I already have the higher denomination bank note of 500 million, but I still miss the big boy of 100 trillion dollars, which was worth about 40 USD cent the moment it was issued. Of course it was worth dog poo soon after.
I am getting the latter one soon thanks to a fellow stacker here on hive, so expect a post with all three when I do ^_^
These toilet paper hyper inflation money are totally useless but fun and cheap to have, so I collect em purely for the novelty in case you wonder.

Most stackers are probably familiar with the Morgan and the Peace dollar. In case you aren't, the first is a United States dollar coin minted from 1878 to 1904. Same for the peace dollar, which was minted from 1921 to 1928 and 1934 to 1935.

When it comes to silver composition, they are pretty much the same. 26.73 g of 0.900 purity. Yep, they are big. And they feel very nice to hold :)
Btw, this is the second Morgan I get for my collection and the first peace dollar I ever own. Dunno if I'll be getting more, these two were close to spot so I couldn't resist the offer! In case you wonder, both coins start from about 25 $, and prices goes up depending on their condition.

I quite like the Peace dollar. I'd like a return to both sound money and less interventionism abroad. With silver dollars around $25 fiat, just imagine how life could be if demand for silver spiked to reflect use as a monetary medium. "Another day, another dollar" could very easily be the equivalent of $100 in fiat now. A silver quarter for a shave and a haircut would be on par with $25 fiat now, which is not too far off from current market prices last I checked.
Me too, sadly I don't think it's happening, except in a scenario that involves a small/large scale collapse, which is something hopefully we will avoid. A 2-3x on silver would be nice though π
Government won't do it for us, but we can strive to barter in silver without their permission anyway whenever the opportunity arise.
The fiscal status quo is bad, but a collapse of the current system would be worse, at least in the short run, and most people are not prepared to handle the economic initiative building a better system on crypto and precious metals would require.
Most people wouldn't last a day without star bucks π

I know that Zimbabwe went through some bad hyperinflation but didnΒ΄t know that they were buying bread with hundreds of trillions of dollars. Sounds rough. Cool additions to your collections though :)

I am just now learning of the inflation of Zimbabwe. It's crazy to me to see a whooping two million dollars on one single dollar bill. Must have been the worst inflation know to man.

It is a startling contrast on how the Powers-that-be spend so much effort trying to convince the public that this piece of paper with a lot of Zeros on it is worth more than 'Useless' silver coin. The crazy part is that 98% of the public believe it!

Seeing the Debt Notes and the Silver Dollars, makes me wonder why people in the Silver Gold Stackers Community find it so hard to believe, when I write that each of your Silver Dollars will end up with the Spending Power of 20,000 of today's Fiat USD's...
Nice silver piece. It's kind of crazy how large a bill can get. Maybe we can expect a few more zeros in another year or two.
I like all these silver coins very much and I also love to hold such things but this eagle design coin is my favorite coin so much help.
I like the banknote more than the coins because of the smiles and jokes whenever you see it/talk about it :)
