The Significance Of The Learn2Earn Model

in LeoFinancelast year

Since the birth of blockchain technology, there has been a prevalent model to reward almost every actitvity that is performed on the blockchain. Blog2Earn, Play2Earn, Move2Earn etc. The idea is to incentivize users to utilize the blockchain by performing a number of activities. The more activity the user performs, the more reward the user tends to get.

In its full extent, I see it as a cycle that reinforces itself over an over again. An incentive brings about activity and activity brings in the reward. Let’s ignore the short circuit for a while, which is cashing out on your rewards and exiting the network.

What do you do when you get rewarded? You invest in back in the network so that you can get more rewards right? This necessarily (in the early stages) equates to more activity.

Over time, you become invested in the network because you’re no longer only attracted by the incentives. Your ‘why’ has evolved. Perhaps you believe in the vision or mission (or even purpose) of the network.

The incentive model is really a powerful and effective way to turn casual observers into committed supporters. The best part is that with blockchain technology you can do it on a large scale.

The Journey Is Rewarded

There is an overlap between the (put the name of the activity here)2Earn models. One can be playing Splinterlands (Play2Earn) while also blogging about it on Ecency (Blog2Earn) or vlogging on 3Speak (Vlog2Earn?) and promoting it on Threads (M-Blog2Earn). There is even a Share2Earn model via POSH. With Hive, all of this can be performed from a single account.

Learn2Earn is like an umbrella that contains all the others. Because there is an element of learning in almost every activity performed on the blockchain. You don’t need to be a writer to write blogs but as you continue to practice you can become an amateur or even a professional writer.

Same thing happens with playing games. The difference is that on the old and traditional model you need to become well versed in that particular subject before one is able to get paid. That will first require months or even years of practice.

That’s not the case here. You don’t need to be a professional blog writer to start earning from your blog posts. You don’t have to be one of the best gamers to starting earning when you play games. Rather while you’re learning to be better at that particular craft you are rewarded along the way. Whilst you’re learning, you’re also earning.

That’s not how it goes in the traditional system. There you’re taught to learn first and then remove the L. Here you’re taught to both learn and earn at the same time.

The Journey Will Be Rewarded

The apprenticeship journey is more rewarding now because you’ll have more than just skills in the end, you’ll also have a money bag.

How Much Can You Push It?

The implications are far reaching. How many things are you going to learn if you knew the journey would be financially rewarding? Maybe a lot, maybe not so.

How would you treat the learning process if you knew it would be financially rewarding? Would you have hastened the path or take your time and over-stand things? What would you do if you’re given the opportunity to learn emerging technologies while getting paid along the way? Will you take it or not?

Blockchain just keeps screaming innovation, vowing to leave no stone untouched. Whenever or wherever you put blockchain in the picture, the image radically changes.
