This is how I work

Work is a fundamental part of our life, in most cases after we graduate we begin to work until we reach an advanced age with the aim of being able to meet our needs and meet our goals.

Today I come to participate in the weekend challenge in which I will develop the following point:

  • Have you ever worked (at your job) on the weekend? Explain what you like or do not like about it and why.

Unfortunately, not all people can afford to work on something they like, which makes working socially perceived as something tedious, exhausting and even uncomfortable. Since 2018 I am studying software development and I can say that fortunately I am not one of these people, in 2020 I started working as a developer and since then I have learned a lot and I enjoy every day what I do which has allowed me to grow at an excellent pace and be able to have the determination to face new challenges.

My current work modality is hourly, totally virtual so I have the availability to decide at what time of the day I am going to work and I can plan my action plan in a way that suits my daily activities. This like everything in life has its advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:

  • I have flexibility in my schedules.
  • I can work and learn new things at the same time, so it's difficult to get stuck.
  • I don't have to spend on transport, virtual mode.

Disadvantages:

  • My social skills are reduced, as I am at home for a long time.
  • I usually face strong stages of procrastination that greatly delay the development of projects.

Working by the hour will require you to be assigned projects or to get clients, otherwise you will not be generating income. For this reason there are usually stages where I have many days off until I can find other clients or another project, as there are usually stages where I work more than eight hours every day without fail with the aim of finishing this assignment in the shortest possible time and thus being paid.

I have had to work up to two months non-stop, although it is a quite considerable burden it has not really bothered me because when you enjoy what you do you learn to appreciate every small advance and generally when I am in these situations I really like to see how the projects I am working on are gradually taking shape until they reach the point where it is presented to the public.

Of course, once I finish I take at least a week completely free of any software development activity in order to avoid getting saturated and being able to prepare for the following challenges. When I don't get clients or when there are no projects available to work on, it's when my other methods come into action to generate income, which I also tend to enjoy a lot.

In this case, the second skill in which I am currently studying comes into play and is graphic design and content creation. I have some extra jobs of social media management also with a totally virtual modality that allows me to organize my time to fulfill my duties and that they do not clash with any of them. Generally when I no longer have a job in the development area I dedicate myself to social networks and create all the content possible to have it stored and use it when I am busy again in this way I can fulfill multiple activities and diversify my income tickets.
