Greetings #hive friends, I hope you have an excellent weekend, we are already on the third day of the month of May, also known in my country as the month of flowers, this time @galenkp brings us several questions for weekend engagement topics, for my entry I will answer question number one:
Could you give up sugar for good? Explain why or why not..
Consuming a balanced and healthy diet is essential to maintain a state of health in optimal conditions, in recent years doctors and specialists have emphasized to reduce the consumption of sugars, according to them by the damage it causes to the body, I think that deprive me of the delicious sweets is impossible, by doctor's recommendations ge eliminated the consumption of sugar and sweeteners in juices, and instead added fruits such as; Cambur, carrot, mango, watermelon, among others that provide a sweet touch to the drink, so I consume the fructose in its natural state, without chemical processes or additives, at the beginning it was not easy to leave the sugar in the drinks but progressively I was adapting and now I consume the juices without sugar when they are sweet, but when they are citrus, I add sweet fruits as a complement to balance the flavor.
Ah, but regarding desserts, it's a different story, I like to eat sweet snacks and desserts, especially with chocolate, I can't imagine a life without sweets, although I try as much as possible not to consume sugar in juices and smoothies, desserts are a case apart, When I go out to run errands downtown, I regularly go to the bakery for a delicious dessert, regularly with chocolate and I love chocolate and it is my favorite when it comes to desserts, I definitely could not give up sugar, but I could consume less of it.
I could reduce the weekly portions of products with sugar, but giving it up completely is not in my plans at the moment, desserts are one of those delicious pleasures that gastronomy gives us and I enjoy eating a sweet, alone or with friends in a pleasant chat.
As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, I love chocolate and when I have the opportunity I enjoy a dessert with lots of chocolate, in one of the bakeries that I like to visit, because they prepare delicious truffles and desserts with a large layer of chocolate, can be accompanied with a creamy and delicious chicha, to which they add chocolate syrup, cinnamon and condensed milk.
I think that perhaps, by tradition or family customs, the consumption of sugar is present in everyday life, birthday celebrations, anniversary and important events include in its menu the popular cake and is that a birthday without cake, as we say in my country is not birthday, the central attraction for attendees and the birthday boy is to taste a delicious slice of cake, to celebrate life; I remember when I was a little girl, birthdays in my country were made with a big cake, quesillo and jelly, going to a birthday and eating these three sweets was the best, because their varied flavors were mixed creating a delight, the jelly usually melts very fast and moistens the cake, this great mix of flavors made children's birthdays a sweet experience and to complete the dose of sweet the favorite soft drink on birthdays was the colita, it is worth saying that it is one of the sweetest.

Ah the sweet life! I admire how you've found the middle ground - sugar free drinks but still keeping that chocolate love alive.
And honestly, who can say no to birthday cake?. I think we all need a little sweet in our lives, but I love how you're making it work without going overboard.
Hi @kristabel123, it's impossible to say no to a birthday cake, life is better with a sweet touch, a gathering with friends or family is the perfect excuse to taste a delicious dessert.
Greetings!
Belkys, I love cakes! Birthday cakes have been a big challenge for me in the last year, but since the ones they give out are always pichirres then they have helped me control my sugar intake hahaha, but before I was one of those who would ask for a big piece of cake or repeat hahahaha. Good answer my friend, I also went for the sugar issue this weekend! ✌️
Hi Jesus, birthday cakes are my favorite and if they include chocolate even better heh, heh, it's true, cake portions on birthdays have reduced in size, looking on the bright side, it's a way to reduce sugar consumption haha.
Have a great day!
As you say, the key is a balanced diet.
This is a very important issue because there are elements that combine and must be taken into account, for example, according to scientific studies the high consumption of sugar is the cause of diseases such as cancer and diabetes, and, on the other hand, besides being necessary sugar consumption is a cultural problem that is in the blood of many regions of the planet.
Finding the right balance is the key, but....
Thanks for sharing.
It is true, the key is a balanced diet, to obtain the necessary nutrients that allow us to maintain good health, the excesses in terms of consumption or stop consuming also have their consequences, the body requires vitamins and minerals for normal functioning and food provide each of them, so balancing the consumption of food in general and sweets, is essential to achieve a better quality of life.
Greetings!
