Care, crave, want...

“Curiosity is the lust of the mind.”

Hello there, full-time weekenders!

Has it even occurred to you that the more you think about some ideas, the more alien they become?

"No? Maybe I'm just that weird!"

Anyways, as I'm going into a fit a silent rage over some issues happening which are the result of dumb luck, I was pondring about this three conceps of love, lust and desire. I don't think I'm close to understanding all three but here's my take.

I want to start with love since it's the weirdest concept of the bunch. You can define love over your ideas and maybe your concept shares some characteristics with someone's else, but the basis of love is human-made and complex. For me, I would say it's this agreement to share your freedom with someone else. For others, it's compromise. We could make up a list but the general idea is to care for something or someone in a way that preserves the integrity of the object of your love. Even help it grow and be better version of itself.

This could also mean stepping away from someone's life to see them grow and be happy about their achievements. I would say that love is akin to having a plant and taking take of it on all ways that matter, water it, trim it, give it extra food to help it grow better, fend off pests, and else. That way the plant grows strong and beautiful. And we also become better learning about the plant and how to take care of it.

Lust is another human-made concept. It's one of the capital sins of Christianity, and other abrahamic religions (I think). It's this incontrolable desire for someone, but I would say it is merely related to sexual desire. I've read somewhere that when you see a person and immediately want to bed that person, that's the definition of lust. I've been there and maybe you have too. We can't control it. We just feel it.

Some people live by that feeling trying to bang anything that breathes. I think every chooses to live how they see fit. Just don't harm others with your lustfulness.

Desire is akin to a flame. It is really bright and hot but it can go away suddenly. We tend to feel this when we have food cravings or want badly to buy something. They feeling goes away as soon as we have fulfilled that need. Sometimes, it's confused by love and when it happens, it brings troubles. There's a Venezuelan streamer known a Dross that says something about this idea. I can't recall his exact words, but it's something like if you feel you could ruin someone's life with your desires and misguided feelings, masturbate. If you keep feeling something else than lust for the person, then proceed. If not, you have an answer.

I think that's solid advice a about how to understand your romantic feelings for others. Of course, give yourself the time to know people and see if you feel something deeper for them or not. And always be sincere.

That's how I see those ideas and I would define as caring, craving and waiting. But concepts on the same ideas may vary from person to person according to their context and experiences. However, I believe we gain something from being curious enough to ask ourselves what we think about these concepts and trying to describe them in our own terms.

Thanks for reading. I would like to know your take on these concepts

Wow, everyone has their own precepts. I like how you define love and lust, they are two of those reasons why human beings overflow their intentions and drive themselves to get what they want.

Let's see how much truth that streemer has, I think it is very close to the truth.....

Cheers. Good judgment on your part.

I was thinking about a lot of ways to go around it and decided to go with the simplest one.

It is like this, the three things are different, they may or may not coincide in a single person or one or two... I loved the topic and the post Andrés!❤️

That's the thing. We could make a Venn diagram to explain how they can come in contact with each other or not.

Of course, they can be intermingled and in different forms.

I wonder 👀

These three concepts are serious stuff and I very much agree with you in the way you define them. Especially with the last one, I've always thought that if you feel something very strong you have to face it and see how fucked up you are 😅.

Still, it's not surprising to agree with you on something like this.

😘

Ha, ha, ha. I think it was Wilde who said something like "the only way to deal with temptation is to dive in". Don't quote me on that.

But there's a lot of gray areas on those concepts.

Of course it was Wilde who said that, that phrase is a mantra in my life, hahahaha. It just seems to me to be related to what you say about acting on a desire.

There are always many nuances in everything, that's what makes life entertaining.

That's a dangerous life motto. But mine is about stuff going wrong all the time. 😂😂😅

So, who am I to judge?

Hahahahaha, At least mine can be fun.

🤣🤣🤣

You have always had an interesting and categorical way of looking at the phenomena of life, I think. I must agree with you in the equivalence of concepts that you make; it seems to me very accurate. And yet I must say that I feel irrepressible lust for chocolate 😁 And I believe that it emanates from divinity; it doesn't seem to me something profane and mundane, something that the unworthy human mind could create 😆

Love to you, my dear friend. Have a nice evening ❤️

This makes me feel like I'm Kierkegaard or someone similar.

Ha, ha, ha, ha. We love to make concepts to have people feel about about their pleasures. I understand the idea with chocolate. It's really attractive. The darker the better. Yeah, I feel lust for it too. xD

Have a great evening, my friend. ❤️
