WEEKEND-ENGAGEMENT 198: MY BREAKTHROUGHS CAME THROUGH SELF-MOTIVATION

in Weekend Experienceslast month (edited)

Its another beautiful weekend.🕺💃 I'm @fab-tay and i welcome us to weekend-engagement 198 on this @weekendexperiences community and i commend @galenkp for the great job he is doing week in - week out in this community. For this weekend engagement, i will be writing on different breakthroughs i got from self-motivation from my personal experiences of more than three (3) decades. It promises to be an interesting read, kindly follow through and comments are welcomed.
The famous female lawn tennis world champion Serena Williams once said: "I am lucky that whatever fear I have inside me, my desire to win is always stronger." This strong statement points to the power of self-motivation which is one thing that has kept me going over the years even right from my childhood. I'm self-motivated and i do encourage myself or feel challenged to achieve things rather than wait for external stimulus or motivation which sometimes might not be there or insufficient depending on the background, environment or brought-up. I will be sharing four (4) personal experiences along this line of self motivation.

Self-motivation in music learning
This was the first major self-motivating adventure i embarked on early in life. I started learning music as a chorister when i was a very young boy then and from there, i started learning keyboard 🎹. I learnt it from my brother who was a keyboardist and i rearshed things learnt over and over until i reached a certain peak. From my passion for music and from my self-motivation that i can know how to play keyboard, it encourages me learning it and I'm glad i did then. From then till now, i still play keyboard and i now have my personal keyboard 🎹 which i bought about 5 years ago.

Self-motivation in academic excellence
I like academic excellence as inculcated in me from my background of having tutors (teachers) as parents. Also, i believe i can be the best in all i do and that motivates me to achieve a level of academic excellence right from childhood days. I received some commendations which also helped but it all started by my strong desire and believe in excellence. This excellence was seen right from primary to university days as i was by privilege one of the frontliners.

Self-motivation in career
I decided to opt in for Pharmacy at the University but initially, i was admitted to study another course. So i said to myself that i will follow my passion, i took the examinations again and i was admitted to study my desired course. Also, while studying, i had some academic challenges in my year 3 and so i had to repeat a whole academic session again which was painful. I encouraged myself and i was encouraged aswell in addition and i went through it again, the rest is history now as i became a Pharmacist by God's Grace. So, self-motivation is a major key for me.

Self-motivation on Hive
I joined Hive late last year through my wife who was a hiver before we got married, she introduced and put me through it. Though at start it was a bit challenging but I decided I won't stop and hence, i encouraged myself to continue. This later pays off as i understand it better now even as i am still learning.
Therefore, self-motivation was a major key for me to experience breakthroughs even though at some points, the external motivations now came in but the fundamental thing for me is the self-motivation. Thank you for reading and i wish us all a wonderful weekend ahead.
