Some Holiday Fun Before Entering His First School

My secondborn is turning 5 years old this year. Tomorrow will be his first day of kindergarten and boy, I am soooooo nervous for him!

We actually had like a month long of school holidays but it really felt very very short this time. Maybe because 15 days of the holidays coincide with the Chinese New Year celebrations so we had been rather busy I guess.

Before the holidays really end, I have purposed myself to bring my secondborn to a friend's house to enjoy her inflatable pool with her son. Hence after a delay of many weeks when I felt incompetent to bring him alone, we finally made it!

When we first reached, he already started exploring the house because it was his first time visiting the house. He was attracted to a long poster of dinosaurs on the wall and was looking for Velociraptor.

It was such a joy to see him enjoy the pool, especially under shade, because Malaysia's weather has been extra scorching hot. He played with his little friend who has self-taught and can swim so well at the age of 2 because he plays in his own pool twice a day. Very impressive!

They played water guns and hunt for dinosaurs sinking to the pool. Anyway it is mostly done by the 2 -year-old boy who can dive with open eyes too.

After the water play, I bathed my boy and then he had some more play time in the kitchen playing with his friend's toy kitchen while eating some chocolate cookies baked by my friend.

More Toys Time!

My friend's house is like a huge playland with many many toys to encourage play. There were many jigsaw puzzles, climbing area, play-doh, drawing and painting station etc. Basically it is a fun place to continue to discover and explore for very long. My secondborn of course was thrilled.

He played some fishing game with his friend.

He went to play racing with his friend.

Then he had another round of snack time of chicken nuggets and some chocolate cookies. This was also the time my friend took out all her Space books collection. Of course my Space enthusiast was exhilarated!

He saw there was a drawing of the solar system that was drawn by my friend so he asked if he could colour it.

He read and flipped through all the books about space.

So pleased to see him so happy though he took 2 hours of persuasion to finally go home!

The husband of my friend even gave him a little grasshopper to bring home, one he so happened caught in their garden. We did bring home but we released it to the outdoors at night.

I am actually in a dilemma of him going to school. I am for school though I also very much love my tome with him. Another friend sent me a meme about how excited parents are to finally have their chilrren back to school. Well, me on the other hand actually feel quite sad and nervous for them to return to school because I really enjoy my time with the boys. However, I also want them to try schooling in national schools too. My secondborn going for his first day is a huge deal for me because he actually expressed that he wants me to go along with him. Not sure how he will be tomorrow but I want to emcourage him to try. So we were busy prepping for school. I will definitely miss him in his half day im school which is actually 4 hours only. I feel like tomorrow's 4 hours will be my longest 4 hours ever. Maybe the one having separation anxiety is me, not him.

I sat together with my 2 boys tonight before sleep and we prayed together for school restarting tomorrow. We bless each other and now blessing them both to sleep well and have a reatful night. Tomorrow school routine will start at 610am. I am determined to prepare their favorite food as their breakfast tomorrow.
