Bloody Sounds That Really Annoys

We live with sound everyday of our lives. It has become part of us especially in the advancing world. It is almost, if not impossible not to make, or hear sounds as we go about our activities for each day. It is not our fault though. Sincerely speaking, some sounds can be really annoying. They cause great discomfort when heard. Funny enough, most of these sounds come from people, animals or things around me. Since childhood, I haven't gotten use to any of them - they just affect my mental state whenever I hear them, especially when they happen suddenly.

Some annoying sounds include:

Sound of Speeding Vehicle suddenly halted.

Once, I was almost driven to comma by the sharp loud sound of a truck that was abruptly halted. The driver was on high speed and needed to stop the truck. He pressed on the brake impulsively, making the whole place discomforting for the people present. It was so sudden and piercing. For minutes, I couldn't come to terms with my environment.

Scratching sound produced with fingers or objects

This particular sound was almost a norm among fellow students when I was in my secondary school. Back then, during free periods, some of my classmates would drum on their desks and in the process make some scratching sound on the wooden surface. They either do it with their fingers, or some sharp objects. I could hardly stay in class when during those moments. The sound would make me want to throw up. Even at home the scratching sound of spoon on plates produce same irritating effect for me. I still find it hard to understand how such sounds could create so much discomfort to my mental health.

I have tried getting used to it to no avail. I almost succeeded getting used to it when it was almost a daily occurrence but along the line, the whole feeling of irritation came back with full force. So, I try as much as possible to avoid it.

Snoring:

This is common to most people. It can be really annoying sleeping next to a person who snores loudly, especially at night. Growing up, my dad was someone I know that snores loudly especially when he is tired. Some of the nights I slept close to him, I could not enjoy my sleep. Hearing his snores irritated me a great deal. The only moments I could not feel it much was when I slept before him. Then, I would try sleeping before him. It was almost like a goal to sleep ahead of him, or even stay some really long distance away from him. Till now, I have not come to getting used to it.

Loud Throat Clearing

This happens when one tries to clear his or her throat when obstruction is sensed. This happens especially when one has catarrh or irritating throat. I have come across people who has made it a habit of coughing out mucus from their mouth on regular basis. It appears very unhygienic and inconsiderate to me. I hardly can eat anything if such sounds are made by anyone close by. I sometimes experience throat obstruction, but I try as much as possible to distance myself from people since I know I won't be comfortable having someone do it close to me.
It really sucks.

Feet Dragging When Walking

Some people walk as if their feet cannot carry their body wait any longer. They walk like the most overwhelmed people in the would. They hardly walk without making irritating sounds produced by friction between their shoes and the floor. Everyone knows when they enter or leave a place. Such sounds can be draining. Back then when I do go to the library to study, some students would walk in dragging their feet, attracting unnecessary attention to themselves. My reading mood was always affected with such sounds. It is difficult to get used to.

Thanks for your time. Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

Haha you know what really gets me, is that most people feel the same way! I hate people dragging their feet, especially in sandals or flip flops. And that scratching on a blackboard -eeee - we all hate that!

You really got the gist. I still find it difficult getting used to such sounds. Just like you rightly said, everyone is irritated by one or more of these sounds. Very annoying it is especially when done intentionally.
