Hi, my past weekend was about welcoming Christmas in my house.And that makes it wonderful, it is only one weekend at year that this happens.

In Venezuela Christmas starts very early, before December, especially in states like Zulia where the beginning of Christmas is hand in hand with the regional fair in honor and celebration of the religious patron saint of the region, the virgin of Chiquinquira.

Hola,mi fin de semana pasado, fue de dar la bienvenida a la navidad en mi casa. Y eso lo hace maravilloso es solo un fin al ano que pasa esto.

En Venezuela la navidad empieza muy temprano, antes de diciembre sobre todo en estados como el Zulia que el inicio de la navidad esta de la mano de la feria regional en honor y celebración de la patrona religiosa de la región, la virgen de Chiquinquira.

So this weekend my sister-in-law and I got down to work to decorate the house, the tree and the crib. First we took out the tree which is bigger, we put a lot of ornaments of different colors, bambalinas of many sizes, butterflies, flowers, St. Nicholas and many lights, silver and blue bouquets. Not a single space was left free!

Then my sister-in-law placed the nativity scene on a table in the living room, the figures are very old and are very beautiful large painted ceramic images, she place them with colorful artificial foliage, it gives a nice feeling of warmth and home to see it lit with its lights. We also put ornaments on the tables of little dolls with clothes from colder climates that brighten up our tropical heat with their white Christmas clothes.

Asi que el fin de semana mi cunada y yo nos pusimos manos a la obra para adornar la casa, el arbolito y el pesebre. Primero sacamos el arbolito que es mas grandes, le pusimos muchos adornos de distintos colores, bambalinas de muchos tamaños, mariposas, flores, san nicolas y muchas luces , ramilletes plateados y azules. No quedo un espacio libre ¡

Luego mi cunada acomodo el pesebre en una mesa de la sala las figuras son muy antiguas y son unas imágenes grandes de cerámica pintada muy bonitas, las acomodo con follaje artificial de colores, dan una bonita sensación de calidez y de hogar verlo encendido con sus luces. También pusimos adornos en las mesas de muñequitos con vestimentas de climas mas frios que alegran con su ropa de blanca navidad a nuestro calor tropical.

Finally we arranged the garlands of the patio doors also with their lights and colorful flowers, the lights are an element of decoration that can not miss.

This weekend was special for me, for work reasons I had many years without being at home for the December decorations, when I arrived everything was already beautifully decorated, so having the opportunity to do it after almost 10 years, made this weekend totally different and happy for me. I hope you were able to do the same at home in the company of your family.

Por ultimo arreglamos las guirnaldas de la puertas del patio también con sus luces y con flores de colores, las luces son un elemento de decoración que no puede faltar.

Este fin de semana fue especial para mi, por razones de trabajo tenia muchos anos sin estar en mi casa para la decoración de diciembre, cuando llegaba ya estaba todo bellamente decorado, asi que tener la oportunidad de hacerlo después de casi 10 anos, hizo este fin de semana totalmente diferente y feliz para mi. Espero que ustedes hayan podido hacer lo mismo en sus casa en compañía de su familia.
