Hot air balloon flight over Pamukkale... and pink love on the shore of the duck lake. #TheLongestTrip

IMG_20240317_164758_169.jpg

We arrived in Pamukkale at 7 o'clock in the morning. The Airbnb hosts agreed to accommodate us early. After three hours of driving at high speed on Izmir Autobahns, it was so nice to be in this cozy mountain village where roosters crowed and sheep ran. I discovered Pamukkale, an ancient village, about which I will write separately. And today we will only touch on this Turkish legend, taking a walk at the foot, where there is a noisy goose lake.

Our apartment was surprisingly rare for Turkey because it had underfloor heating. We were happy. While enjoying the sky at dawn, we suddenly noticed: there are many balloons flying in the sky. We know that balloons fly over Cappadocia, but we didn't expect to see balloons over Pamukkale!

Victoria grabbed her phone and ran to the roof to film this fascinating sight. By the way, this is a dream of my daughters - to fly in a hot air balloon. But if we were correctly informed - such an extreme air ride costs $350 for one person. And this is too expensive for us yet.
We enjoyed this beautiful sight from the roof of our house. Orbs, like magical alien creatures, moved slowly in the crimson sky. And we can only imagine the feelings of these people who are in these baskets!

Later, we got some sleep and went to look for this legendary snow-white desert, which is well-known and famous for its turquoise baths. We saw a white mountain of amazing nature. At the foot of this mountain was a lake, on the shore of which stood a pink retro car. This is a very atmospheric place where lovers film their love stories!

Many geese were swimming in the lake. They fought among themselves for the food that the tourists gave them. It was very fun and interesting to watch them. They shouted loudly and actively moved on the water :)

After looking at the geese enough, we went to the entrance to this snow-white mountain, but we found that we came too late and it was 10 minutes before closing time. We have museum cards that entitle us to free entry. That's why we went in, but there was an interesting moment. We had to take off our shoes and walk barefoot or in socks.

It was a little cold in the legs, but the sensations were incredible. We explored this snow-white rock that was like lime and made a snow-white corrugation. Like a petrified avalanche of white color.

Beautiful views of the sunset sky and several turquoise pools in the background were visible from above.
And the next day we went to the upper entrance, where there was access to contemplate the unique turquoise baths and the ruins of the old city. So, wait for the next story.

Love it, love the photos, I visited there many many years ago and swam in the waters, i hope you got to enjoy that experience too

We were sick then, and it was still cold outside in February. That's why we didn't swim. Maybe one day we too will experience swimming in these pools.

I hope you do , get well soon

Pamukkale seem to be a very cold city but I’m sure you enjoyed your visit to the place
That’s a nice one though

It was quite a warm day. We walked for a long time in the sun, enjoying the pure and uniqueness of this place.

How beautiful are these snow-white rocks when the sun shines on them? Can't wait to see the turquoise pools 😀
It's a shame that the price for the hot air balloon ride is so expensive. It would be an experience of a lifetime...

Yes, these mountains give the impression of mountains of snow. I hope next time we fly in hot air balloons. Thanks for reading about our adventures.

You have a very nice view out there:)

I'm glad you liked it 😊

The scene of the sunset and snow mountain near a lake and slight light on the sky during sunset making the scenes beautiful. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures.

How beautiful are these hot air balloons and the white mountain.i wish i could visit this place.

What a pity not to be able to enjoy that balloon ride. But the place is beautiful. You have shared with us and taken us in photos to that place. Thank you.🥰🤗

Надзвичайні світлини - і повітряні кулі, і загадкова гора...)))
А я через півтори години поїду на операцію - видалення катаракти... Сподіваюсь, що все буде добре!)))

I knew this places because of its reputation, but didn't know you had to walk barefoot on the snow. As a Mediterranean guy, I feel a bit scared 😁
Joking, I'm pretty sure it's a wonderful experience. I've seen the snow recently, and for me it's quite rare... it made me feel in contact with Nature as I felt few other times in my recent past.
Next time, I'll do it barefoot, thinking of an Ukrainian family in Pamukkale.

Hugs from Italy, Olga, and best wishes for your future :)

Experiencing life, valuable lessons, the area is amazing with old and new mixed together, unusual sights, each unique to enjoy.

these were some breathtaking images! loved it.
