Today is my BIRTHDAY!! Come by say hi!

Today, 21st of October, I was born a few years ago.. (don't ask! haha)

To celebrate I went to have lunch with my family in this restaurant I went to once before and I loved it. I love the space and the architectural style, and of course the food.

To me here they have the best cheesecake I have ever had in my entire life! But first.. let's start from the beginning.

The name of the restaurant is "El aprendiz de tapas" in Benimaclet area, in Valencia Spain.

It is located in a small hidden square where kids play around.

They moved from the old place to the right in front and renovated the concept of the restaurant with a completely modern look.

I really love the design of the space. The concrete polished looking of the walls.. All the pure straight likes finished frames. The big windows the hidden frames so it looks like there is no glass.

The interior is so stylish and with different tables. Small ones for two people. Big ones for groups. Long higher tables and chairs.

And the toilet is so cool and beautiful as well. I love restaurants that take care of a nice bathroom experience.

The decoration is a huge contrast with the plain and simple architectural design. It reminds me of Mexico, and Morocco.. just a weird and satisfying mix. I guess that is their philosophy since they have a variety of "tapas" from many parts of the world. Asia, South America, Spain, etc..

The first plate was a typical but still very good tapa of "patatas bravas", Spanish style.

The second one was croquettes with an amazing sauce and in a Thai-flavored style. You had to press the little plastic pipe to get all the sauce inside the croquette and get the amazing tasteful bite!

The third plate was a Japanese Tataki. I LOOOOVE tatakis. And this one was just A MA ZING.

The fourth plate was a bao with pull pork... I almost forgot to take a photo before I ate it! It was so good I couldn't resist

And finally... The dessert I was talking about before. Such an amazing cheesecake. We ordered one to share but it was so good that we had to order a second one!! It tastes so much cheese, creamy but very soft.. the crumble is so good as well.
