Island Escapade: A Holy Week Getaway to Tudela, Camotes City

Hey there, hivers! My previous post was quite some time ago. I hope that, despite the difficulties you are currently facing, everyone is doing well. Once more, I'm back with another blog. I can't wait to tell you about the place and our adventures on the island where I spent my Holy Week holiday, especially because of the beautiful scenery.

I decided to spend Holy Week with my closest friends in Tudela, Camotes City. Do you know this place, or have you been there? Actually, Camotes are a small series of islands in the Philippines called Camotes. They are located 63 kilometers from Cebu City and are a part of Cebu Province. Cebu City was my home. Our travel was difficult because it was Holy Week and ship transportation can be full or unexpectedly alter its schedule.

Our departure time was 1:30 pm on March 29, 2024, as we intended to take the 5:30 pm ship. Unfortunately, the personnel informed us that the last trip left at 11:30 a.m. when we arrived at Danao Port. Their failure to make any announcements on their social media accounts was quite upsetting. We chose to just wait in the dock for fourteen hours because the next trip was at 5:30 a.m. tomorrow.

We have already purchased tickets and reserved our seats for when the time comes. I suppose the trip only takes three hours. It was evident as soon as you landed in Camotes Port just how gorgeous this island is. You would want to leap off the sea right away since the water was so clear. Haha! Even if you are only in the port, you can still see the island in the distance. Upon arriving, we were picked up by a friend of ours. The place was truly beautiful, and it was well worth the wait. We take a jeepney ride and arrive at the resort after over an hour of travel. By the way, the resort was called Casa Del Rio Resort.

Weeks before the trip, we had already reserved the place we were staying. The resort was affordable. It was peaceful, and you could have a great time. There are two large pools at the resort. If you are in the infinity pool, you can see the sea view. Just look at that breathtaking scenery. This place is something that nature lovers would appreciate.

Lunch was served to us in a floating cottage. I just didn't get a chance to capture many photos inside the floating cottage since I was too scared of dropping my camera. Following our meal, we jumped from the cottage and took a sea bath. Everyone was playing games in the sea and had a great time. Luckily, nobody else is around but us. Following that, we decided to get back inside the resort so that we could start enjoying the pool and drinking beer.

Our vacation was made even more enjoyable by the friendly and accommodating staff at the resort. On March 31, 2024, we left for home. We had only a short stay at the resort, but we plan to come back and stay for at least three days so that we may spend more time exploring the island. We want to explore the island's caverns, beaches, and other tourist attractions.
