Pre-Val’s day party

I really look forward to weekends a lot these days. For the most obvious one being no lectures. But they’ve become the only time I get to stay in my room for a while.
I had a function to attend this Saturday morning but I’d just made up my mind not to.
A few people called to asked me if I’m coming and I just had to find all kinds of excuses. I planned to do other things during the early hours of the day but I couldn’t get out of bed. It was almost 10 am when I finally managed to get up.
First thing was to get my clothes washed cause I hadn’t done it in about 2 weeks and it was piling up.

I got started with that and it took longer than I expected.

I had plans for the evening. I don’t think I’ve willingly attended any party on campus unless I’m obliged to. So this was the first I was attending on my own. Well, there are other reasons taking me there but let’s focus.

The program was to set to begin at 8:00pm but we all know that’s not gonna happen.
I called a few friends to come around so that we will go together. They came at 9 pm. That’s the time I decided to go find something to wear. Everything I put on, felt like I was doing too much.
But I just had to come up with something.
Unfortunately I didn’t take any picture.

We were a group of 6 and we split into two. It’s been a long time we’ve hanged out so it was quite refreshing.

We got to the venue at 10 pm but it looked like we got there too early.

There was music obviously and there were other games too. Tables tennis and FIFA were the only ones I saw though.

Then we got closer after a while cause there was an activity going on.
From what I saw, a sachet of water was placed on the floor, then a volunteer was blindfolded and given a stick and asked to walk to the sachet water and hit it with the stick. Saying it seems easy.
Even watching it, it appeared easy. But it was extremely hard for the participants.

Before being blindfolded, the participants would calculate the distance or number of steps it would take to get to the sachet of water from where they are blindfolded. All these tactics and they would still miss it😂. Some would just start walking off in a different direction.
There were a few people who were able to hit the target but most of them were just lost.

Then there was a comedy performance. But I couldn’t get any pictures because I was so busy with this ice cream. It wasn’t all that but it was something.

Then came the ‘date rush’. That’s the highlight of the show.
How it’s done is this. A bunch of ladies would line up, then a guy will present himself before them. First, a profile video of the guy would be displayed to give a fair knowledge about him to the ladies.

Based on the video and his appearance, those that would like to go on a date would him would remain quiet while those that I not interested would raise their hands or some sort of signal. Then another video is shown. This talks about his likes, hobbies, past relationships, his type of girl and stuff. Then the ladies would decide again.

The ladies are given the opportunity to ask the guy questions to enable them decide and finally, he might get a date or none at all.
So that was exactly what happened. While this was going on, I got distracted.
I was busy taking pictures of @nhaji01 and @depressedfuckup who were right infront of me.

I wasn’t really getting a good one but I think this one is better.

Next was a performance from a student artist.

Unfortunately, it was cut short because we were asked to end the program at 12:00 am.
I wasn’t surprised though cause I was already aware of it. I was even surprised the program went on for that long. The reason for this time limit, I don’t even want to bring it up😏.

Anyway, anyone started leaving and I was trying to get another picture of @nhaji01 here but it didn’t come out well.

I got together with my squad again and we made our way back home. I went straight to bed when I got to the hostel and woke up the next day still wearing the same clothes.
