Time and tide wait for none || Weekend Engagement Post

Caution: This post is purely shadowy. No person, no power, no machine can ever take you back to any previously spent time or era. Even if you, yourself, try to go back by recreating everything, even that might not be possible given your mindset and thoughts and maturity levels would have changed by then.

But having said all of that, not everything is achievable. But that doesn't mean we stop wishing and thinking about those times.

As a part of the weekend engagement post by @galenkp I would like to answer "If you had the ability to stop time (and remain there) which year, moment, event or era would you choose, and why?"

Years of wishing, months of planning, shit loads of hiccups, and a lot of savings went into planning our honeymoon which happened to be nothing less than perfect. It was surely the most amazing 9 days of my life.

Our vision for our honeymoon was to visit a place that was not too Honey-Mooney. By that I mean, uncommon and less traveled by. For Indians, the most common places back then were Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Dubai. Europe was chosen by some who had more to lash out. So all these places were already out of my list. And it was really difficult to find a good place that matches our requirements and budget.

After a lot of research, we finalized Turkey for our honeymoon. In 2016, Turkey was not at all a tourist attraction due to activities going around in Syria and the borders. Just a month before our travel, there was a bomb blast right where we had planned to stay, just 500 m away. That scared the shit out of us and our family members. There was a lot of reluctance from their side, they didn't want us to go there. But it was all planned from our side, tickets were booked so we thought of going ahead with our plan.

And that was one of the most amazing trips of my life. We had 9 days of crazy happiness, new sights, delicacies, experiencing things together, and getting to know more of each other every beautiful day that came. That trip made up realize what a fantastic couple we are, how are life choices match and how compatible we are.

We have had many trips after that but the Turkey one has so far been the best one. We always think of going back there someday, to re-live those moments. We know it's not going to be the same now, we have changed. I should rather say evolved. We have a kid now, more tensions, more problems, and more work. We don't look that young now. But there's one thing I know, it will be fun because the two of us are together.

Sharing some crazy pictures to show you guys what we are really missing.

You have an excuse to have a second honeymoon and choose to recreate things!

That must have been the greatest honeymoon ever. I would be tempted to go back thousands of years.

You both look like you had so much fun...it's exciting to see.

If you could stop time, remain there and do these activities repeatedly for weeks, years, like a freaky Friday situation, would you still enjoy it? Or you'd get bored at some point?

It really does look like a memorable honeymoon. I think it's wonderful that you look back on those days with such affection. Totally agree that even if we try to recreate a moment, it's never the same but I believe you would both enjoy it immensely the second time round too.

Thanks for sharing it here.
