You are still breathing, Why?

Have you ever thought about what the purpose of our lives is? It is important that our lives have a purpose? Who or what should decide what the purpose of our lives should be?

Once a traveler came across a crossroad along his journey. He asked a passerby where these roads lead to? The passerby in turn asked him where he was going to? The traveler replied “I don’t know”. Then the passerby said “ if you don’t know where you are going, then it makes no difference which road you take”

That is the same with life. If you have never thought of a purpose to your life, then it doesn’t matter how you live .

Everyone must have a purpose for their lives. God driven or not, there must be a reason why you are living.

Some people believe that those who think the purpose of life should be decided by God are those religious people who do the unthinkable things on earth, simply because life on earth is not actually their main goal or purpose.

However, I believe everyone should have a purpose to live. And finding the right purpose of life should be the best thing to happen to every human.

Therefore my biggest fear is not finding the purpose of my life or living my whole existence in a wrong paradigm decided by my ancestors.

I believe everyone must die and I believe death is not the end of life. I believe life should be fair and the only way that can be possible is if there’s a life after death where everyone would be fairly trialed and judged.

However, thinking about this also makes me ask myself questions that I’m very afraid to answer. Who should decide what is wrong and what is right? God. Which God.

Obviously there are many gods recognized by many different religious bodies. So who’s God is the right God and what does he say about what is wrong and what is right?

Again, I’m aware that there are some people who do not believe in the existence of a God or gods. I can’t say much for these people. What I know is that we are all a creation, you and I did not create this creation therefore someone or something obviously must be responsible for our creation.

This is simply what I call God and what I’m most afraid of is the fact that I still don’t have convincing answers to the questions that I asked in the first paragraph of my post.

I have a purpose of life that I believe to be right. But a purpose of life can not be centered on a belief. Believe is a function of doubt therefore to believe in something is to simply agree that you don’t actually know it.

And the fact that I don’t yet know the purpose of life is my biggest fear in life.

Thank you @galenkp for yet another interesting topics for the weekends.
