That Part Of My Body

I'm pretty happy with my body. It's not really ever let me down. I treat it good and it, in return treats me good. At the end of the day, I've only got the one, so it's definitely worth looking after. It does amaze me , that more people don't seem to get that. The whole body's being our temple. I'm glad I do though.

There is still more, that I could be doing better. So I'll keep improving, or at least I'll try to. Do I have a favourite part? One that I could write a whole post about? Well yeah, it's the part of my body I'm really grateful for.

Okay when I first thought of an answer to that question, I knew what I was going to say. But now as I write it, especially stating how it is the part of me that I am most proud of, I find myself thinking of a different body part.

The part of me that allowed me to carry my children. My womb. The center of my being, my energy source, that which brings forth life. A part of what defines me as a woman. But I feel like, that post is for another day, that today needs a more light hearted answer, so I go with my initial body part....

My legs, that have carried me everyday to where I need to go. That have carried me to far away places. That have allowed me to dance, to climb, to jump and skip. I have do many wonderful memories of skipping home with my girls. The most recent, a week again. We skipped home singing...

Every little cell in my body is happy, ever little cell in my body is well. I'm so glad every little cell, in my body is happy and well.

Skipping whilst singing this, is such a wonderful thing to do. Because, you can literally feel every little cell come alive. If you know this song, you've got to sing it whilst skipping.

I love to walk. It's my favourite mode of transport. If you really want to explore somewhere, then walking is the best way. I'm pretty agile, so I love to explore mountains, dry overgrown river beds, canyons, the jungle. I do love to go off the beaten track, but not so much that I put myself at risk of getting lost. I also love to walk at night.

my legs carried me here, there is no other way to reach this beautiful spot, like so many others I have been to.

I find night time walking very calming. Medative, alongside dancing of course. I am so grateful for my legs. They are pretty toned because I'm still very active. Walking at least 2 hours most days, on different sorts of terrain. Staying active, because I want to stay active.

So, I choose my legs as my favourite body part, because they have taken me to so many amazing places. Here's to them, taking me to many more.

The last time I commented you really caused an important effect in me, I am very focused in recovering my body, in filling it with good habits so it can be better and therefore I can be better. Your way of talking about yours as a temple is exceptional, because it is precisely our own temple.

You are absolutely right about the uterus and all it means to a woman, but wow, going out of your way to write and end up paying homage to the legs was the best thing you did today. My dad had an accident in his 60's and lost the ability to walk, he died 6 months later due to complications, but in that time span I understood the importance of our legs, our safe and unique means of transportation. We have to love ourselves, every corner of us. I'm glad to follow your content because with day to day life I tend to be a bit undisciplined person, but here I find that reminder to be better for myself.
