Hi friends, this is my first post in this community πŸ€—. My name is Wendy, I'm 26 and I live in Cuba. For me it's a pleasure to be here, since one of your rules is to write the posts in English and even when Spanish is my mother tongue, I love English, in fact, that's what I teach in university. Moreover, I have no one to practice my English where I live so posting here is a great way to do that.

Today I want to tell you about the early Halloween celebration I went to on Friday night. It was the perfect way to start my weekend. I really needed that, a night out to go dancing and change the routine of the daily life.

The preps

I love Halloween and I have been looking forward this celebration they do in Rumayor, a night club from my province. I guess I should explain that we don't celebrate Halloween in Cuba, but still there are some places like night clubs that throw a kind of theme party. So, since Halloween is on October 1st and this year it's a Monday I wasn't sure when the celebration was going to happen because they always do this kind of things on weekends, obviously to attract more people.

Anyway, on Friday my cousin found out that Halloween night was going to be celebrated that same night and he called me to tell me. I was having my hair done but immediately I called my husband to tell him the news, so he would prepare on time. I also called my brother and my sister-in-law so they could also be ready on time.

We had dinner early and then I started looking for things that would go with my idea of a Cleopatra costume. As Halloween is not really a thing in Cuba, I was the only one who was excited about wearing a costume, the rest of my family just dressed normally πŸ˜….

The costume

Well, my costume was homemade since that's another thing we don't have in Cuba, a costume shop. The only way to have a costume is if you have a relative in another country who buys it for you. But that didn't stop me from doing my best. I wanted to be Cleopatra so I dress with yellow and golden colors and I drew a little symbol under my right eye. For my make-up I also used yellow and green colors.

The other part of my costume was a necklace I used in my head and some strips I used in my arms like they were bracelets. That's it, it was very simple but it was the best I could do πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. The most important thing was that I had fun and enjoyed the night πŸ₯³.

πŸŒ›The night🌜

We arrived early in the cabaret, at around 9:30 and there were few people, what allowed us to select a good place to sit, near the stage so we could enjoy the show. As the night progressed more people arrived and I realized I was one of the few that was in disguise.
Well, to sum up, we had a wonderful night. We danced a lot and we enjoyed the show. They did some games and at the end they selected the best costume of the night. There were only 5 people in the contest but it was very funny and the winner got a prize. I didn't participate 'cause I'm too shy for that. There was no way I was going to go on stage to dance in front of everyone πŸ˜¬πŸ˜….
Here's some pictures of the night πŸ‘‡

This is one of the games they did where you had to dress your partner as a mommy using toilet paper 🧻. It was so funny and my cousin was there on stage πŸ˜‚.

It was a good night, we leave at around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday. I hope next year would as great and I have a better costume πŸ™πŸ˜Š.
