RE: (Eng-Esp) Orianka's story- La historia de Orianka

in The Ink Well14 days ago

Imagine how the princess must have felt knowing that her father could just hand her over to anyone as if she was a property to be owned. Marriage is something sacred between two people that WANT to spend the rest of their lives together. Such a tragic story.

Sort:

It is customary in the villages for parents to marry off their daughters at an early age. For the father it was a good husband that he chose for her. Imagine, he was a son of kings, he was a great warrior, he had lands given to him by his ancestors for being a warrior. That was all Orianka's father wanted for her.

The bad thing is that the father did not understand that his daughter would never want to belong to anyone, she was a free, lively, enthusiastic girl. She proved it every day with her attitude. That was his big mistake.
