Greg and Ana have been married for 5 good years but Ana didn't get pregnant which makes her worry so much and Greg's mother is not helping the matter at all.
It was a beautiful Saturday morning Ana was just waking up when she heard a bang at the sitting room door.
"Arrrh, who doesn't have a house that is disturbing this early morning," Greg asked while he covered his head with a pillow.
"I will get the door," Ana stepped out of the bed and went to the sitting room.
"Oh really you don't want to open the door for me right? In my son's house," Greg's mother shouted at Ana.
"No mama, I just woke up," Ana answered as she tried to grab her bag but Greg's mother pushed her away the rate at which Ana landed on the ground got Greg's attention in the bedroom so he rushed out without putting on slippers.
"What's going on here," Greg asked anxiously.
"Ask your wife," his mother replied and hissed then entered the kitchen.
"Babe what did you do to my mother," Greg faced Ana then asked.
"I didn't do anything babe," Ana was trembling while she replied to Greg but the fact that his mother was angry didn't let him see how Ana was shivering.
"My son I warned you about this barren girl, I told you to get another girl who will bless us with children," Greg's mother said while she came out of the kitchen.
Ana began to sweat and her eyes were filled with tears but she was strong enough to hold them back.
"Mom please stop it's not her fault we are both trying so don't blame anyone," Greg defended her and immediately he moved closer to Ana the tears rolled down from Ana's eyes.
"Babe don't cry, ok we will definitely have our children," Greg said while he hugged Ana tightly.
His mother hissed again on the couch she sat on the replied the two of them, "I am here for the holidays so you two better be ready to give me a better result before I leave, or else I will bring another girl here by myself,".
Three days later, Ana got sick and Greg wouldn't stop telling her to take a pregnancy test, he anticipated getting a positive result for her mother so that she could leave. But Ana was scared to take the test because she knew Greg would be disappointed if she wasn't pregnant.
"Babe, it was just malaria it's nothing serious meanwhile I just finished my monthly period," Ana said to Greg so that he would take his mind off the test.
Three weeks later,
"Arrrh, arrrh," Ana made the sound in the toilet while Greg wasn't home and his mother wouldn't help her all that Greg's mother did was rain insults on Ana for not getting pregnant in the sitting where she sat.
Ana came out of the bedroom and said, "Mama I need to get something in the supermarket" but Greg's mother didn't answer her. Ana was almost at the door when she collapsed.
"Ana! Ana!!" Greg's mother shouted while she lifted her from the ground, she ran inside to get her phone and then put a call through to her son.
"Hello! Greg hello!! Are you there?" Greg's mother panics on the phone.
"Mother, I can hear you what happened?" Greg answered.
"Ana... Ana fainted," her voice was trembling while she was talking to her son.
"What? How? Why? What happened mother?" Greg questioned his mother.
"Look call the doctor and stop asking me all those questions," Greg's mother shouted at her son.
Some minutes later, the family doctor came with an ambulance then took Ana to the hospital. Greg took permission from work and rushed down to the hospital.
"What happened Mama? Greg asked his mother again.
"She fainted after vomiting severally," Greg's mother explained. While she was talking to her son the doctor came out of the ward where Ana was admitted.
"Mr. Greg, your wife's condition is stable now but we are still running some tests on her to know what exactly happened," the doctor said to Greg.
"Oh thank you doctor please help me nothing must happen to my wife," Greg replied while sweat dropped from his face.
"Just calm down everything would be fine," the doctor said and left.
Greg was anticipating the results of the test so he began to pace around until the doctor came back some hours later.
"Mr Greg can I see you in my office please," the doctor said.
"Of course yes," Greg replied quickly and then followed the doctor into his office, his mother wanted to follow but then he said to her, "I will attend to that Mom, just watch over Ana for me please,".
His mother hissed and then sat back looking at Ana from the transparent window.
"Congratulations Mr Greg, your wife is three weeks pregnant," the doctor announced.
"What? Wow! I can't believe it, thanks doctor," Greg jumped up and then shook the doctor, some minutes later he went out to break the news to his mother who was anticipating what the doctor wanted to say. But when she heard the news she was glad and she started acting cool with Ana again.
Ana and her husband had a baby boy and they lived happily together after.

Mother in laws and wives usually have difficult atmospheres when there is a delay in conception. Greg had the inclination and thankfully, Ana was indeed pregnant.

Am telling you, some mother in-law are so considerate at all.
I don't know if I would put up with such mother-in-law and son after birthing the child. Greg seems to me like a man who couldn't stand on his own words. He seems like a mommy's boy. He's supposed to protect his wife at all cost and not stand to ask questions. Just imagine your seeing your wife on the floor crying and he's asking annoying questions. I'm so pissed off. I don't care if she later came to terms with with Ana after getting the grandchild, I know that sooner or later she'd look for something else to beef the poor girl with. Your story is lovely btw.
Yeah, some man are like that when it comes to their mother they wouldn’t want to support their wife and leave their mothers.
We are presented with a very difficult relationship between daughter-in-law and mother-in-law, but everything takes a turn when Ana becomes pregnant. A good conflict and resolution.
