The Beginning Of A New Life

When I was in the secondary school, I found Mathematics to be my weakest subjects. I don't know if it was the mindset I had while mingling with my friends, or maybe I was not moving with the group of people who took Mathematics to be their best subject. I had tried all I could to make it in the Mathematics realm, but the more I tried, the more lazy I was becoming in mathematics.

Being a science student, the only way out is to know mathematics or to take mathematics as the best subject. I was not that type, and at some point I wanted to give up being a science student for commercial. This had also happened to my elder brother in the past. I was thinking so differently, but then I got a thought within me just to bring improvements into my race of knowing mathematics.

Before that thought came to my mind, I guessed that my mathematics teacher was the one behind my both legs backwards in the music of mathematics. She was a lady and was only focused on a particular topic. This topic cannot escape from my memory. I kept struggling to know mathematics, but then my efforts were kept in the dark.

The day we did the first term exam was the day I received an open mind and eye to make some special greatness in my life. The questions my teacher brought were the toughest, but others were playing with the questions as there were dancing to the music of mathematics. It was just as if I were the only one left without the knowledge of Mathematics. That day, my friends who were not so good at mathematics wrote their best, but I was the left-alone. I later vowed to myself that I must not take mathematics for granted. That exam, I performed woefully, undoubtedly. My dad was seriously angry at my failure. He wanted to give me some special walloping, but my mum somehow stopped him. Although, I suffered as they used words to lash me. You can see the thick drop of water dropping from my face. Flogging would have been better than those words I was lashed with.

I asked my parents to buy me a Mathematics textbook as I had none. When they bought one for me, I started studying Mathematics by solving the problems on each topic. Initially, I was not improving, but when I took the study so seriously, I began to see some changes. While in school, I was not relenting in the area of solving mathematical difficulties. I had a friend which we also studied together. He was just like me naturally but after studying for a month and two weeks of holiday, we became a little grounded with mathematics. We had studied the complete of our scheme of work for the second term.

When we got back to school, everything became so easy and my friends were surprised for the significant changes they were seeing in me and my other friend. We write the first test, and it came out to be the best. My mathematics teacher had to call me, asking me if I had cheated. I told him it was my strength. He was doubting and decided to try me with different but similar questions. I was ready to take what he gave to me, and I did those questions squarely. When he was done marking, he was convinced that I did it myself a d gave me what I had deserved. This was where my improvement started from. I concluded that I will not relent my effort in the area of mathematics and other subjects.

In the second term exam, I performed so greatly and without distractions. I was the talk of the day in the school as well as in my home. My dad had to buy me my best jean trousers.
