Creative Nonfiction in The Ink Well Prompt #144

Welcome to The Ink Well's weekly creative nonfiction prompt!
In this post, we'll provide the prompt for the coming week.
Before You Write Your Creative Nonfiction Post...
We ask that you read our Creative Nonfiction Tips post to learn about the creative nonfiction genre and review our guidelines.
Important notes:
- Creative nonfiction stories are based on your real-life experiences.
- We are looking for real short stories! Not advice columns, reports on crime or corruption in your city, observations on nature, recipes, religion, politics, or any other nonfiction content. Just real-life short stories.
- Ideal story length is between 750 and 1500 words, but your story must be at least 350 words, at a minimum to be curated.
- Please focus on quality content. Read and edit for errors! Use a grammar checker before you post your story.
- We expect everyone who posts in The Ink Well to read and comment on at least two other stories for each one published.
- Do not post stories featuring physical abuse, graphic violence, erotica or NSFW content.

Highlighting @happy080, with the story:
All That Glitters Is Not Gold!
Suddenly, a huge guy walked in; he was as tall as a coconut tree in full season, with teeth so white that it seemed he did advertisements for Close-up. His glittering gold watch was almost blinding my eyes as he placed his wrist on my desk while talking with my friend, Lola.
Curator's comment :
Nicely paced tragi-comedy. A witty fun read.

Highlighting @marriot5464, with the story:
The Class Reunion
It's either someone bought a car or someone is bragging to the other about spending millions in a club or posting pictures of themselves in exotic places. Even when they have problems, it's usually the rich man type of problem.
Curator's comment :
An endearing nicely structured, interesting read that evokes empathy.

Highlighting @ zain-ab001, with the story:
The Snack Attack
I think that was the first time I realized that I had a lot to discover in the world of food, and that is when I made a promise to myself that someday I would travel around the globe and dive into the diverse wonders of the foods of this world.
Curator's comment :
Zain-ab001 writes a thoroughly entertaining CNF about admiring American snack food and the disastrous experience he and his siblings had when they overindulged as a result of a gift sent from the USA. Funny, engaging and well structured piece that rings true.

Highlighting @lailawrites, with the story:
All That Glitters Is Not Gold
The pay was what sent my dopamine levels off the charts and through the roof, perhaps that's why I did not sit down to rationalize, I strongly doubt I was even thinking at all. Sixty dollars a manuscript; three times more than any other job I'd ever accepted before that.
Curator's comment :
As this narrative of misfortune unfolds we are party to expectation and then disillusion. The author's writing skill is topnotch at conveying both experiences.
