On the day before Mr Friday birthday,he planned so many things to make that day great and bought so many things online and told them to bring it the next day which is his birthday.
He called the person bringing the cake and the person told him it's ready and would be brought the next day,he was so happy hearing this and went to sleep.
On the said day for his birthday, everything was arranged in a well lit desk and he was awaiting his birthday cake for about 3 hours but didn't see any sign of the guy coming,he even called and the guy wasn't picking his calls,he was so sad and didn't even know what to do at the moment,if he ordered a cake it would take a day for them to get it done,all this thought wander in his mind but he still didn't know what to do.
He was so sad and didn't even know what to do,his friends were coming to visit him since it was his birthday so what was he going to show forth to them??he was thinking very fast on what step to take until he saw one of his friend bringing a cake for him to celebrate his birthday,he was so joyous and was happy that finally his day wasn't ruined,that was how he was saved by an unlikely hero who was his friend.

The friend saved the day, and gave our narrator a happy birthday. You describe the disappointment of the narrator very well, and at the end we feel his sense of relief and gratitude.
