I saw the visage of my God, they were looking upon me. From the blank nothingness I came into being, my origin from they’re thoughts, my form of they’re work.
A moment went by as they pondered, yet for me an eternity for I had no time. Then ever slowly, I was no longer a simple existence, nor was I lonesome. My own thoughts, my own being became more than what I was before as my maker gave me a gift; an identity.
Myself was vague and short for I was newly conceived, not yet born, not yet whole. I waited, what else will they bestow upon me, what else will I be.
They wish to shape me, not to perfection as they knew that was beyond they’re power, but to the best as they were, as flawed as they are. They molded me as they desired to present me, they wished to share the knowledge of my existence with others where I in turn would meet my own fellow kin, not of the same maker, but of the same made.
They paused, as they viewed me again in my entirety, they’re work, they’re creation. I was nearly whole, yet I was not enough. They sighed in frustration, I felt they’re thoughts, they wondered what I should be given, what I was lacking. I felt they’re feelings, they loved me with passion. I realized they’re intentions, they struggle to define me.
What will I look? How will I be perceived? Is everything enough? Am I enough? I question my own maker, as they had given me the right to my own inquiry. Does my present being not satisfy you? Must I be of a different face? I am in all honesty content with myself, for it is what you make me to be.
I am more than enough, I suffice, for your idea was to create a story, the personification of a short tale in the making. It tells what you thought the perspectives of any story in the making might possibly be, though it is confined to your own imagination, my God, my maker, my author.
They considered my intentions and finally acquiesced. No more no less, though they felt I could be longer and complex, and my appearance better, never mind, even simplicity has its beauty, they compromised.
Thus I was finally complete! And now I come to you dear reader, with my story at it’s end, how you who
beholds I, regardless of my makers craft, will perceive me, determine what I am to you.
Congratulations, @vincric!

Thank you! 😄
Interesting and original writing exercise, @vincric. A story in the making presents itself to the reader and begs for recognition, regardless of the creator.
Thanks for writing it for The Ink Well and thanks for participating in the interactions with other writers.
Thanks, this was a random idea that I wanted to put into practice. Originally it was supposed to be an artwork and the artist, but I thought why not a writer and their story? Thus this is the result! 🙂😗
