The real challenge is not just to limit screen time, this approach is superficial and often ineffective. Rather, it is about learning how to filter, how to actively select what we consume. Being more demanding about the content we absorb, about the quality of the ideas we let into our minds.
Today, we are overwhelmed by an avalanche of information, often designed to capture our attention without bringing any real value. Algorithms promote what is viral, fast, emotionally engaging, but rarely what is profound and constructive (except Hive). If we don't take control of what we consume, we become mere passive receivers, manipulated by logics that don't always serve us.
totally!! I am lucky that living in a rural location the politics of my country doesn't really affect me and I don't let it ruin my day. The trouble is I find myself filling my free time with entertainment or watch a video of someone talking rather than actually getting out there and socializing.
Luckily it is getting easier to break the habit now that I have been getting back into writing and drawing in my notebooks. I guess that is my way of becoming a creator rather than a passive receiver, and sharing aspects of this online help re-inforce that.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment!!
