Trying Out Turbo Coronet Magic Deck (first time using Divine Coronet)

in Gods On Chain27 days ago (edited)

Greetings!

This week I noticed that most of the decks that I get to battle are off-meta and when I checked Gudecks out of curiosity gone are the decks with 100+ and 200+ wins most of the decks that I fought are less than 20-30 wins. That said, I speculate something is happening at the current meta. I also experience losing a lot with my once-successful Food Chain deck.

What I did was to find a deck that is not mostly used but is still one of the strongest, Divine Coronet.

I don't have experience using Divine Coronet because it is an expensive deck. So, what I did is rent on Lootrush and use the deck once mentioned by @meltysquid on his post titled Turbo Coronet Magic. This deck is very consistent. I won 61% of my matches with a 40-25 (win-loss) record just yesterday, check out the screenshot below.

No practice, I immediately used the deck at Weekend Ranked

By the way, before I used this deck I was in MIDNIGHT SHADOW (I was relegated to Midnight because of the shifting of the meta). I learned to use the deck by following the instructions of @meltysquid in his post about Turbo Coronet Magic. You can check out his post regarding the deck (check out the link at the beginning of this blog).

I think this deck can go to Mythic. Going to Mythic was my goal in using this deck but I felt too burned up because I used it continuously by playing 65 games in just a single day.

What I learned

On using this deck I found out that it is very consistent and I believe it can go to Mythic. This deck can take on any deck except for the Deception deck that uses **Candy Chain** and **Cutthroadt Insignt**. It can lose to fast Aggro War decks if Divine Coronet does not give sticky frontline creatures. It does well versus Anubian and Aggro death (or maybe I am just lucky playing against them). Against Zoo Light, it can; turn the battle around even if your opponent has 6 creatures with "protected" and "armor".

Featured Match

In this feature match, I am up against a Zoo War deck.

God Power: Magebolt (always, in any match)

Mulligan

Look for either "Lost In The Depths" or "Undertow Striker". If you got any of the two do not keep the other one. If you are going first use "Lost In The Depths" at turn two. If you are going second you can use "Lost In The Depths" on turn one.

1 Mana

My opponent played Skollkin Valkerie and Trial Spirit. I played Vanguard Axewoman and used LITD. I killed Trial Spirit with Vanguard Axewoman.

2 Mana

My opponent used Enrage on Skollkin and went face. I played Scuttler Sentry.

3 Mana

My opponent played Blade of Styx and went face, he also went face with Skollkin. I killed Skollkin with Scuttler Sentry. I went face with Magebolt.

4 Mana

My opponent went face with Blade of Styx, played Valka's Captain, and Lootable Corpse. I played my Divine Coronet Combo (which left two Warp Engineers on the board).

5 Mana

My opponent uses Savage Strike on one of my Warp Engineers killing Lootable Corpse and one Warp Engineer. My opponent played Warmonger Smith buffing his relic. I played Giramonte and Divine Coronet and I chose Avatar of Magic from the there 9 drops that were presented. I killed Valka's Captain with my Warp Engineer. I played another Divine Coronet.

5.1 Mana

My opponent played Wood-cutter Imp and went face with Warmonger Smith. He killed the Divine Coronet with Onyx Nightblade. I played 1/1 Divine Coronet and chose Polyhymnia. My opponent conceded and it was GG.

Hi, "Giramonte" and "The Divine Coronet" is a great and very powerful combination.👍👍👍
