I haven’t shared much here on Hive for a long time, and I feel like I could diversify into a few communities. Although, I never really paid attention that there was a Gods Unchained community here. So, maybe I could share what I know about it, especially regarding card pack openings, which is my biggest joy in the game.
I had eight packs to open, but to avoid making this post too long, I only selected four and highlighted the card that caught my interest the most. I can tell you in advance that I didn’t get many great things maybe luck wasn’t fully on my side.
Tainted Treant. This card is one of those that, at first glance, you might underestimate. But once you start playing with it, you realize its potential. It has 2 attack and 4 health, which is pretty decent for a 5-mana cost card, but what makes it special is its ability. It has Regen 1, meaning at the end of each turn, it restores 1 health. This already ensures an interesting durability on the board, but the real bonus is that at the end of each turn, you get a random Nature card added to your hand. And that, my friends, is a huge advantage.
Ogre Archer. I have to admit, when I first saw this card, I thought, "Okay, seems like just another normal attack card." But the difference is that Ogre Archer has 3 attack and 3 health, along with its Roar ability. You can choose an enemy creature to deal 3 damage. It’s almost as if it had 6 attack points, right? I think so. I have to admit I was tempted to highlight Tartessian Tallonis here instead, but I’ve already tried him in various decks, and I can say that maybe he doesn’t serve his purpose well he might work better if you have a large number of Olympians in your hand.
Burnished Bull. I’ve had this creature for a while now. This giant bull comes in with an impressive 10 attack and 10 health. Yes, it’s basically a brute force monster. It doesn’t have any special abilities, but who needs them when you have 10 attack? Of course, its cost is higher, so you need to be careful about when to bring it out. I like using it in situations where I’ve already gained control of the game and need a heavy finisher. After all, who’s going to ignore a 10/10 bull on the board?
Feral Shapeshifter. This is an interesting card. It has 4 attack and 4 health, which is already good for its cost of 4 mana. But the trick is in its ability. When you play the Feral Shapeshifter, it becomes Hidden for one turn. This means your opponent can’t attack it immediately, giving you time to prepare a move without the fear of losing it right away. Plus, it has a Roar that deals 1 damage to an enemy creature when it enters the game. That extra damage might be just enough to take out an annoying creature from your opponent or at least weaken something bigger.
Wrapping up today’s card opening, I’ve added 3 rare creatures, 1 epic, and 16 common ones to my collection.
