Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well.

In the last Weekend Ranked, I decided to play all 18 ranked games with my Amazon deck that I had been using for about a month, before making some changes to it. I managed to get 12 wins, so I got 9 packs in total, not bad compared to my previous perfomance. But since I was in Solar Gold rank, I got the same rewards for 12 wins as I did for 10 wins in Etheral Diamond.

This is what I got in one of my two Dread Awakening packs, I clicked on the next pack very quickly and didn't take a screenshot of the other one :(

Even though I had some good games with the deck, it was time to make some changes, mainly because I got a bit bored of damage spells, especially against mage decks that literally base their deck around spells, so I replaced some cards that weren't working out so well for me overall.

My previous deck

The cards I removed from my deck were:

Chiron, The Teacher. I liked this card because for only 1 mana cost it has 2 great effects. But the bad thing is that it is not an amazon creature, if it were I would like to continue playing it, but since it is not, unfortunately I cannot make ally combos with it.

Penthesilean Warrior. This card gives +1 to stats to a creature like Chiron does. I thought it was a good card but after using it quite a bit, it made almost no difference overall, and most of the time I even skipped it when it was in my first hand when I was going to play in second, so this card has a 2 mana cost and if I wanted to skip it that means that I didn't really like it at all. It's an epic card, maybe that's why I didn't want to remove it earlier.

Warrior of Paradise. This card wasn't really bad, as compared to the other cards mentioned above, it has helped me win a lot more. Overall I still like this card, but unfortunately it's very bad against damage spells since it only has 3 HP, so it was mostly due to magic decks destroying it before it could even attack.

If this card can be improved in any way, I would like it to have GodBlitz, so it can attack the enemy god if there are no enemy creatures, so it can give +2 attack to a creature. But its damage would be reduced to 1 if it did that, so it can be a balanced card.

Sartonian Spearfisher. This card also, like the Warrior of Paradise, was very useful in mid-late games, but like the Warrior, this card was an easy target for spells, being destroyed in the next round after being summoned. I like its effect of dealing 3 damage to a creature and especially the delve effect, but since my deck is all about finishing off the opponent as soon as possible, before they can use annoying spells or strong creatures, it was time to change it.

I was also using two Nightleaf Warriors, but I think one is more than enough for now.

And some cards that I was only using one copy of, I increased to two: Amazon Conscript, Riverjumper Captain and Lancaller Captain.

And as I mentioned before that I don't really like playing against magic decks because of their countless spells, I add two copies of a creature that has Ward: Barksworn Protector, so the opponent can waste at least the god power or 1 spell on them.

I want to show you a battle against a magic deck that, as usual, used a lot of damage spells.

Unfortunately, I couldn't win quickly and the opponent defeated me using a combo of two spells, Arcane Burst and Pyrrhic Knowledge, dealing 30 damage to my god in a single round.

This is a snippet from another battle where Narcilla, the Huntress destroys 4 units, proving how strong she still is. Unlike the other battle, I was able to win this one.

That's all for now, see you, have a nice day.

Awesome post! This kind of post writing about your deck decisions is very helpful to new players like myself. Great read! I would love to read other deck tweaks you make in a similar style as this.

I'm glad it was helpful. For now, I'm just using this deck which is mainly based on amazons creatures, because I liked the aggressive playstyle it has. So far, it's looking pretty good, just a couple more games and I'll reach Mythic rank.

If I make any changes to my deck or play a different one, I will detail them in my next post.

That amazon deck is very strong and can grow if we don't have it to clean. It is very complex to fight against that class.

Yeah, Amazons are very strong in the early game.

Interesting. I play Mage a lot and the times when Amazons win easily is when they manage to buff creatures like using Myrto's Daughter or playing warded creatures. Also, the constant chip damage from the Bristling Pixies, Fae and the Whip is usually enough to almost kill me, and then Arkmonian Onslaught just finishes the job.

I'm kind of curious why you chose to keep Selena, though. What are you taking out to keep that card in your deck? Maybe a second copy of Nimble Pixies to combo with the Bristling Pixies or Onslaught would give you better value? Or even 2x Onslaguht for consistency?

Instead of posting all those screenshots of cards from GU Decks it would be easier and faster for you to use the direct links to the card art like "https://card.godsunchained.com/?id=2450&q=4". This way you also get images with transparent backgrounds.

The reason why Selena is still in my deck is really simple, there aren't many Amazons with Ward, so I decided to give it a chance, it all depends on how well it performs. If not, it will unfortunately be removed like the other cards.

I have no problem taking screenshots, I do it very quickly. I would like to use that link, but the dimesions of the card are very large, if there is a command to change it, it would be very helpful.

Things just look better with transparent backgrounds. I don't think you have to worry about the image size, PeakD or any other frontend will always resize them for you. I always use the direct links and I never have issues with the images.

This post for example has a lot of linked cards https://peakd.com/hive-173286/@agrante/all-god-powers-in-gods-unchained. In this case they are in a table, but resizing also works if you use divs (2 images side by side or image and text).

If you just want one image as you have in this post, then you can use a little resizing trick mentioned for example in this Medium article: https://medium.com/@chrisgarrett/how-to-richly-format-your-hive-posts-with-html-and-markdown-bc3b348b002

You may have to use centering tags as well. But you can play with the '200x200' part of the URL to get any size you need.

That's very helpful. I wish I had known about this feature much earlier. It makes everything much faster, as you mention, and the image looks better. Thank you so much.
