As far as I know, dry pasta does not contain preservatives, only semolina and water, or egg in some cases. Being a product with low humidity, it does not need additional preservatives, just protect it in a good package. But that's not to say that the food industry is plagued with weird stuff. And how great about the change in diet, I had not heard that about cereals. Sometimes biotechnology in pursuit of increasing mass production forgets about health. I hope they can make a good change in that aspect.
