I don't know if it is right or wrong, but I think the whole idea of cultural debate and stuff nowadays are mostly because of the recent development in social media.
And I think I am one of those, although I am trying to find the other point of view on one issue so that I can have balance information about things so that at least I will not fall into some kind of delusional things, or be dragged by som politician who has power and money to rent buzzer to spread information on media social platform.
I have been recently watching some shorts on youtube, or twitter, even on Instagram, a short about the debate of feminism, trans or gender identity, or any other things that feel so controversial. although those kinds of things has yet to be an issue in my country, I don't know for how long, since those kinds of posts can be shoved down on our feeds based on the algorithm of those social media to show things that might fit your interest so that you will stay longer in those platforms.
The problem I think is that they only will shove you things that you like, but not the facts or the opposing ideas that might keep you in balance for information. They will shove posts into your feed, just because you have the same idea, which is somehow could believe things that might not be true.
And yes, we need to always do some research on things that we see or watch online, more over if you are so active in making posts, because you might regret it in the future when someone cancel you for the things that you write now, which in the future proven to be wrong. so stay safe always.
