Just a short post. I cannot write this on DBuzz or InLeo Threads, for it's longer than a micro post.
Classroom Experience in Onboarding Students
I just want to share my experience in onboarding my students here on Hive. Two are absent, 5 are present, and one is sitting in. I forgot to take a picture of our first class. Perhaps next week when they are complete.
After a brief Syllabus orientation, we went straight to the computer laboratory. I was surprised to see that our computer lab looked abandoned, so we went instead to the IT room for them to sign up for a Hive account.
Challenges in Hive Onboarding
In my experience, DBuzz is the easiest. I used this front-end to onboard my eldest son last December. However, when I tried to onboard my sister-in-law, I encountered a technical problem. I don't know if it has something to do with our IP address or if the Internet connection turned slow. Until now, my sister-in-law has no Hive account.
The same problem that a fellow pastor encountered when I told him to create a Hive account. Because of that experience, he suspected that Hive perhaps was a scam. I don't know if he is serious or just kidding. He too does not have a Hive account until now. I think I have to resolve this difficulty, especially if pastors in NCRSM Presbytery decide to join Hive.
Two pastors I know did not experience such a technical problem. One created an account in Bataan and another in Bulacan. Unfortunately, they have no time to explore the opportunities offered here on Hive.
Another experience I had in creating a Hive account for my officemates happened, I think, more than a year ago. It's good that @gadrian was able to help me in creating accounts for our registrar and our accounting staff.
After repeated attempts using DBuzz, we were not successful. We encountered difficulty using KeyChain. We tried InLeo. @mariamaryann5 made it. But when we tried to do the same thing with the remaining students, the onboarding failed. At least they were successful in creating their usernames and Hive keys. I advised them to remember and keep those keys safe and try logging in to their homes. Just in case they fail, again I am thinking of asking @gadrian's assistance on Discord.
Web3 Integration in Theological Education
Today's class is focused only on orientation and the creation of a Hive account. Just like my proposal to NCRSM Presbytery, I am thinking of using this class as a pilot project integrating Web3 in theological education. Once successful, I will introduce the idea to the faculty orientation next school year.
This is my first attempt to implement Web3 in my class. My goal is not just to impart theological knowledge. I also want my students to be equipped with Web3 skills. Earning while learning is my suggested slogan for this class. I also want them to have fun. These two things—fun and income—are considered strange in education. The dominant paradigm requires hard work, and huge expenses are necessary to attain education.
Course Learning Outcomes and Assessments
As for course learning outcomes, I divided them into six categories. The four categories maintain the traditional approach. I integrated the Hive platform in the other two categories—creativity and innovation, and teaching and learning strategies.

As for assessment:

This integration is exploratory. There will be changes here and there. After the orientation, I was thinking about how to include the students' HIVE power (HP) in the grading system. I suggested that they give their accounts at least five months before withdrawing any amount.
Furthermore, I was also thinking of creating a community for pastors, theological students, church workers, and interested Christians to participate in Christian ministry and mission in cyberspace.
I think that's all. This article turns longer than I expected.
Grace and peace!

I have noticed too that onboarding with hive is not that simple...
You could try ecency I remember they used to let people create accounts, or hiveonboard makes create accounts easily
Good luck with the class!

I forgot. Yes, ecency is another option.
Let me know if you need help creating those accounts.
Thank you!
I sent you a message on Discord. Three of my students were able to create their Hive accounts. As for the other four remaining students, they still have difficulty signing up on Hive. I asked them to send me their preferred usernames.
Sure RZC, send their usernames to me on discord.
Once I receive them, I will send them to you immediately.
You should write me a comment somewhere too. I often open discord once a day or something like that.
Ok, got it.
I wonder why it took them too long to respond. One gave his user name: bordagul.
I'm still waiting for the other 3.
Sent you his private keys. Make sure to change them.
I love this and I mean it
Good job you are doing here
Thanks!
