A Little Dusting

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to appreciate brushing a bit of dust off on old photo albums!

A Little Dusting

Every now and then we have to dust things off!

I certainly have a LOT of pictures stored on my laptop. One of these days I will count them up.. well actually that day is now LOL I've got 2,192 photos saved on my computer! Shit that's a lot LOL Thankfully I didn't count them individually.. nifty when you know some computer skills to be able to find those types of things out pretty easily.

With that many photos.. you can for sure bet that there are many of them and many folders that do not get touched for a while. This was one such evening!

It's been a while since we've been to the beach in real terms. I think we went once or so during the colder months where last year we were there pretty frequently. This year we had lots of other things going on so we just couldn't make it there which is okay. That means though, that my photo album for beach things was getting a little stale! In comes a beach trip to the rescue LOL

We didn't take many photos that day, because it was more important to enjoy some family time with my son but I did manage to snap a few. This goes back to one of the earlier posts I made where if I don't do something for a while, such as taking photos, I get a little antsy! I love taking photos of things, I don't claim they are fantastic but they are a good way for me to store a little bit of memory associated with that moment in time.

The beach trip was certainly an enjoyable one because the weather was beautiful; very sunny but a little bit of wind. This meant that you could enjoy the weather quite a bit and had a slight chill that would keep the heat away. I love a nice sweltering hot beach day, but at the same time I also for sure enjoy the mild and comfortable ones. You can do more beach activities!

I think the beaches that we go to, for the most part, are pretty cool in that they have great scenery. Sure I like the white sandy beaches and all, but for me that's a little bit boring! You don't get to do much except lay on it, walk on it or swim. With a nice rocky beach, you get plenty of choices of things to do! LOL

One of the fun things about the photo album and how some of them are old, is that if I haven't gone to look at one for a while, when I do make my way over there I end up getting a nice little dose of nostalgia! We all need to cherish and enjoy memories in our lives, especially when you've got kids. I selfishly use many of these photos to remember where and roughly how old my son was in it!

What about you, do you appreciate when you find something that's old and you breathe a little life into it? Let me know in the comments!

True, when we look at old photos, we feel a wave of nostalgia like we’re living that moment all over again.

Yeah that's one of my favorite things about old photos! I can remember the day and event we were doing and it helps me enjoy a few moments a little bit more.

Haha, reminds me of my husband and his photography -- he's taken so many photos, on so many memory cards -- it could take DAYS to go through! 😱 Then, of course, it ended up happening that he lost a lot of photos, a memory card became corrupted or something, and we lost some baby pictures of our oldest (thankfully we have so many that we're not broken up after it!).

But this was a great post! Great reminder to go through some stuff, see old memories again 🥲 Thank you so much for sharing!

Yeah the old baby photos of the kiddos are really cherished memories. My old phone, I forgot the password and it had SO many memories and photos. I tried the wrong password too many times and it completely reset 😢 it was horrible lol. We have most of them saved elsewhere of course but I was really mad that I lost some that we likely only had on my phone.

I didn't even count the SD cards hahaha. I've got thoooooooousands of photos on the SD cards! We've got a collection of them hahah. None are full but each one has its own chunk of wonderful memories.

Glad your husband is an avid photo taker as well :D
