It’s Nice When Things Work The Way You Envisioned them

I spent forever and day trying to figure out what type and size of generator to get for my camp trailer. Them dang things can get real expensive real fast. In order to run the A/C in the trailer I need over 3,000 watts of power. So it was either get one bigger generator that weighs around 100lbs or 2 smaller generators weighing around 40lbs a piece and a parallel kit. I swear I went through the pros and cons a million and a half times. Then I finally made a choice. I chose to get 2-2,000 watt generators and a parallel kit. These small generators are light enough the kids and wife can carry them. Plus when I only need to run lights and the basic stuff I can just use one generator. At 53 decibels these little guys are super quiet. So I went ahead and pulled the trigger and hit that Add To Cart button.

After looking at the dimensions of these 2,000 watt Champion generators, I thought that they might fit in my tool boxes on my truck. Way back when I had these under bed tool boxes installed I chose to go with a size that most people don’t have. They are 18”X18”X36” Nice and big. Having a flatbed on my truck these are a must to add some extra storage.

My idea of these generators fitting in one tool box was spot on! I tipped one generator at about a 45 degree angle and it slipped right into the tool box. Initially I was thinking I might have to just put one generator in each tool box. Then I got to looking at it and I think both of them would fit in one tool box. Could this really happen?

Talk about a perfect fit!! If I push them to the back of the tool box the parallel kit fits in there too. So now I can toss them all in the tool box and lock it up, safe and secure when we are traveling. Throw a gas can on the bed of the truck and hook up to the trailer and we gone!!

It’s nice when an idea works out and things have their place. Instead of just piling everything inside the trailer. One day I will get the trailer all dialed in with everything we need. One day it will happen... one day

Until Next Time...

Serendipitous fit! I have spent much of the afternoon examining what I should fit in my bug-out bag, and what needs to be set aside for when there is more time to prepare. The big forest fire concern is lessened now that we have had some decent rain, but I don't want to slack off and get complacent. My modified first-aid kit case and a couple emergency snap-lights fit in one of my backpack pockets like it was designed to work.

Like in my work truck, I know where everything is, what I have on it and how it has to be placed in the bin in order for it to fit. Lol.

There is a certain level of satisfaction when you find the perfect place for something and it makes room elsewhere for more stuff.
