Red lips — Hive

Hace mucho tiempo que no hacia un retrato que fuese tan de cerca y hoy aproveché la mañana para ponerme a dibujar, al principio solo quería hacer unos labios rojos desaliñados, pero finalmente decidí hacer parte del rostro. Me encanta este tipo de dibujos porque es mas sencillo trabajar cada detalle, igualmente no descarte mi idea principal del todo, hice labios rojos grandes con el labial un poco corrido de los bordes, utilice colores cálidos que hicieran juego con el rojo de los labios ya que últimamente he trabajado demasiado con tonos fríos, me pareció interesante intentar otro tono por hoy.

It's been a long time since I've done a portrait that was so close up, and today I took advantage of the morning to start drawing. At first, I just wanted to do some messy red lips, but in the end, I decided to do part of the face. I love this type of drawing because it's easier to work on each detail. Still, I didn't completely discard my original idea. I drew big red lips with the lipstick slightly smudged around the edges. I used warm colors that matched the red of the lips, since I've been working too much with cool tones lately. I thought it would be interesting to try a different tone today.

Proceso/Process

Realicé mi boceto y comencé a pintar con tonos rosas, rojo, beige y marrones, en una nueva capa añadí mas colores creando una mejor forma en todo el rostro para luego difuminarlo y dejar una textura suave, a veces siento que difumino demasiado y me gusta mas en el paso anterior, pero nunca me he animado a dejarlo asi jaja. Lo más satisfactorio de pintar esta vez fueron los labios ya que utilice tonos rojos muy fuertes que me encantan, me recuerda al color de la sangre.

I made my sketch and started painting with shades of pink, red, beige, and brown. In a new layer, I added more colors, creating a better shape for the entire face, and then blended it to leave a soft texture. Sometimes I feel like I blend too much and I like it better in the previous step, but I've never dared to leave it like that, haha. The most satisfying part of painting this time was the lips, as I used very strong red tones that I love, It reminds me of the color of blood.

Agregue más detalles como las pestañas y zonas un poco más rojizas en el rostro, al principio no pensé en agregar cabello, evidentemente en este tipo de dibujo tan cerca el cabello es lo menos importante pero experimente dibujando pequeños mechones asomándose un poco por las esquinas y me gusto, finalice agregando luces en los ojos, nariz y labios además de un pequeño ajuste de color que no hace demasiada diferencia.

Add more details such as the eyelashes and slightly redder areas on the face. At first, I didn't think about adding hair, as obviously in this type of close-up drawing, hair is the least important thing, but I experimented with drawing small strands peeking out a little from the corners and I liked it. I finished by adding highlights to the eyes, nose, and lips, as well as a small color adjustment that doesn't make too much difference.
