Today I chose a reference photograph of a beautiful Indian model to make a portrait. I managed to finish the entire painting process within one and half hours. I used normal paper and watercolor cakes to create this.

Started with a sketch using a black ball point pen which is my favourite style to try.
Started applying the colours with a very light touch but finished the background part in no time.
Moved to the clothing part of the character and painted the hairs with some reddish brown colours.
Added some more strength to the colours of hairs. Created the skin tone and tried applying some more strength to this region too.
More shadows and textures are created. Used more contrast colours in this final step.
