Jang Hyuk Portrait Series | Jang Hyuk As Prince BangWon In My Country: The New Age

Hi all, this portrait is the ninth portrait under my Jang Hyuk Portrait series. You can find the links to previous portraits towards the end of this post.

Like the rest of the portraits in this series, I completed this portrait in December last year, right before Jang Hyuk's 46th birthday on 20 December.

To those who aren't familiar with my work or know who this guy is, or why I initiated this series, you can read all about that in this post: Jang Hyuk Portrait Series | New Portrait Series After A Year of Art Block

❤️ Jang Hyuk As Prince BangWon In My Country: The New Age ❤️

The reference image for this portrait is taken from a still from the historical K-Drama, My Country: The New Age. My Country is a 2019 South Korean television series that aired on Netflix and JTBC from October to November 2019.

Jang Hyuk played the role of Prince BangWon, an important historical figure in Korean history. Prince BangWon was the third king of Korea's Joseon Dynasty and the father of King Sejong the Great.

I watched the drama and it was good. Jang Hyuk wasn't the main character but he still outshone the rest of the cast with his charisma and talent. In many of his interviews, he mentioned how he helped mentor the junior actors in this show and gave input on how they could act more effectively. One of the main reasons I love him is because he is very humble as a person, has no airs and graces, and is simply a kind and nice person all around.

❤️ The Portrait ❤️
