My Portrait Drawing Journey: A Glimpse into My College Practice Sessions

in Sketchbook4 months ago

Hi everyone! Taking a trip down memory lane to my college days, I wanted to share a bit of my portrait drawing practice. From imitating styles to quick sketches and playing with different angles, it's been quite a ride.

Imitation Practice:

Commencing with imitation, I studied and replicated portraits from various artists. This foundational step allowed me to understand diverse techniques, shaping the development of my distinctive style.

Speed Sketching for Expression:

Incorporating speed sketching into my practice focused on capturing facial expressions efficiently.

Exploring Different Angles:

Testing out different perspectives, I experimented with angles and viewpoints, deepening my understanding of three-dimensional facial structures.

Pose and Facial combination :

The combination of pose and facial expression became a vital step in my progress. By blending these elements, I aimed to create portraits that not only captured physical features accurately but also transformed the subject into a different character through subtle emotions.
