Good morning everyone,

Today I’m sharing with you all a commissioned piece of a friend. This drawing is the first of its kind because I’ve never done a big biro portrait before. I’ve always been drawing small biro drawings but not in a big portrait form. I choose this style as a form of experiment to see if I could actually do a big portrait with the biro medium and also because I had a short time frame to deliver. Biro drawing is faster to complete compared to pencils and paintings and so I decided go for the style.

I enjoyed every bit of the process as it flows together so easily. Also it gives the freedom of flow. I didn’t have to be extra careful, I could just freestyle as I want with the lines because the style I used was scribbling. At the end of the drawing process, the portrait turned out well and it gave me great joy. Upon its completion, I framed the work and delivered it. The owner loved it and it was a win win for everyone.
