Fashion illustration

in Sketchbook2 years ago

Hi everyone, today I want to share two fashion illustrative pieces I enjoyed creating. My models are tall and a friend of mine said he could see elements of me in them, like the hair style and the coats I like to wear. He's right. I draw people who appeal to me in the way they look and dress :)

The finished pieces can be found below

I used the inking pen tool on sketchbook pro because of the vibrancy of colors and because I simply enjoy seeing more crisp lines these days. I've been using this tool a lot instead of my using artistic pencil tool so I guess it's a growing phase.

Don't let the 'simplicity' of the style fool you. These pieces took me hours to complete because I wasn't sure how I was going to paint them. I clicked on that redo and clear buttons several times until I finally had to decide that I had reached the end of my work for the day.

I love that my art works are of black women in various skin shades and tones. I'm still working with one body type fog now but it will be interested to incorporate other body types once I feel more comfortable to explore. I enjoy these types of works because you don't have to do much realism and I get to splash a lot if my favorite colors around.

Thanks for stopping by!
