My first Christmas illustration! [ENG-ESP]

Hi people, I hope you are feeling great, it's already December, one of my favorite months of the year!

Just a few days ago I was thinking about doing an illustration inspired by Christmas, maybe designing a character or drawing a Christmas scene, but I happened to remember that for one of my graphic design classes at the university I was asked to do the cover of a children's story with a Christmas motif, so I stopped thinking too much and got down to work to deliver the assignment on time.

Considering that the assignment was to design a product for children, I wanted the illustration to be tender and simple.

Process:

This was the main idea, I did it on the phone, the image suddenly came to my mind and I didn't want to lose the inspiration.

Doing all this drawing was very relaxing, it didn't take me too much time, I think it took me longer looking for ideas of the style I wanted it to have. When I was a child I loved cartoons like Snoopy, and as you will see, I tried to follow that minimalist drawing style, with few but significant details.

I think I'm getting a little better at using colors in my drawings, for this design I chose the typical Christmas colors (red, green and white), but I also used yellow to reflect joy and warmth. I try to follow a more harmonic palette of colors that go according to the environment or the theme of the drawing, as it is in this case, Christmas.

This was the final result, what do you think? I love it, maybe I'll do one or two more drawings with this style for these dates.

Hola gente, espero que se encuentren muy bien. ¡Ya es diciembre, uno de mis meses favoritos del año!

Justo hace unos días estaba pensando en hacer una ilustración inspirada en la navidad, quizá diseñar un personaje o dibujar un escenario navideño, pero casualmente recordé que para una de mis clases de diseño gráfico de la universidad me pidieron realizar la portada de un cuento infantil con motivo navideño, así que dejé de pensar demasiado y me puse manos al oficio para entregar la tarea a tiempo.

Teniendo en cuenta que la tarea se trataba de diseñar un producto para niños, quería que la ilustración fuera tierna y sencilla.

Proceso:

Esta fue la idea principal, la hice en el teléfono, la imagen llegó de repente a mi mente y no quise perder la inspiración.

Hacer todo este dibujo fue muy relajante, no me tomó demasiado tiempo, creo que tardé más buscando ideas del estilo que quería que tuviera. Cuando era niña me encantaban los dibujos animados como Snoopy, y como verán, traté de seguir ese estilo de dibujo minimalista, con pocos detalles pero significativos.

Creo que estoy mejorando un poco en cuanto al uso de los colores en mis dibujos, para este diseño elegí los típicos colores navideños (rojo, verde y blanco), pero también usé amarillo para reflejar alegría y calidez. Trato de seguir una paleta de colores más armónica y que vayan acordes con el ambiente o la temática del dibujo, como lo es en este caso, la navidad.

Este fue el resultado final, ¿a ustedes qué les parece? A mi me encanta, quizá haga uno o dos dibujos más con este estilo para estas fechas.
