KARLA MY ORIGINAL CHARACTER. EPN/ENG

Hellou hellou~! Muy buenas a todos aquellos que estén viendo este post. ¿Cómo están? Espero que bien a mí el calor está matándome. El día de hoy vengo a mostrarles otro dibujo, este es algo especial ya que es la primera vez que dibujo a Karla en cuerpo completo a digital y además... en un estilo normal y no uno chibi.

Hellou hellou~! Good morning to all of you who are watching this post, how are you? I hope you're doing well, the heat is killing me. Today I come to show you another drawing, this is something special because it's the first time I draw Karla in full body in digital and also... in a normal style and not a chibi one.

¿Primero lo primero como fue creada Karla?

Bueno cómo nació Karla?.. Ella era simplemente un garabato que hice mientras estudiaba en bachillerato. ¿Curioso no? Solo era una cara con dos colores de pelo bastante deforme ciertamente. El dibujo era horrible, pero fue su primer comienzo, quizá algún día haga un post de la evolución de su diseño. Si te preguntas si prestaba atención en clase... solo diré que me dormía.

First of all, how was Karla created?

Well, how was Karla born? She was just a doodle I made while I was in high school. Curious wasn't it? It was just a face with two colors of hair, quite deformed indeed. The drawing was horrible, but it was her first start, maybe someday I'll do a post on the evolution of her design. If you're wondering if I paid attention in class... I'll just say that I slept.

Ahí arriba pueden apreciar el primer boceto del dibujo creo que tuve que hacerlo desde 0 unas 4 veces. Lo bueno es que me sirvió para practicar el pulso con el mause, hacer los bocetos, aunque sea tedioso poco a poco se vuelve mas fácil. El Ctrl z es amor.

Above you can see the first sketch of the drawing, I think I had to do it from 0 about 4 times. The good thing is that it helped me to practice my hand with the mouse, to make the sketches, although it is tedious little by little it becomes easier. The Ctrl z is love.

Enserio me tomo mi tiempo terminar el boceto, todavía no soy una persona experta con la anatomía o proporciones y dios, enserio me costó hacer buenos muslos. Dibujar a mause es horrible chicos.

Dejando eso de lado, en su momento cuando dibujaba a Karla comenzó a despertar mi gusto por los tonos morados, por eso parte de su cabello es de ese color. Ciertamente es un curioso corte el que tiene, ya que es como si la parte de adelante fuese hecha para ser un cabello corto, pero luego la parte de atrás es enoooorme. La razón es simple Karla solo se arregla la parte de adelante algo así como un corte personalizado.

It really took me my time to finish the sketch, I'm still not an expert with anatomy or proportions and god, I really struggled to make good thighs. Drawing mause is horrible guys.

Leaving that aside, back in the day when I was drawing Karla she started to awaken my taste for purple tones, that's why some of her hair is that color. It's certainly a curious cut she has, as it's as if the front part was made to be short hair, but then the back part is huuuuge. The reason is simple Karla only has the front part done as a custom cut.

Disfrute haciendo el lineart del dibujo, no suelo dibujar muslos o la parte de debajo de la cintura así que fue entretenido intentar el darles forma. Siguiendo con el History time de Karla, Casi todo su diseño está inspirado en una youtuber llamada Yapura Meri, hace mucho tiempo ella tenía este tipo de corte el cual era una fusión entre largo y corto, lo cual le permitía jugar con eso y aparecer en algunos videos con cabello corto y en otros con cabello largo y a mí me fascinaba ver eso.

I enjoyed doing the lineart of the drawing, I don't usually draw thighs or the part below the waist so it was fun to try to shape them. Following with Karla's History time, almost all her design is inspired by a youtuber called Yapura Meri, a long time ago she had this kind of haircut which was a fusion between long and short, which allowed her to play with it and appear in some videos with short hair and in others with long hair and I was fascinated to see that.

Me alegra haber dibujado recientemente a una Karla chibi con los colores que más me gustaron, ya que así tenía menos trabajo a la hora de comenzar a pintar con los colores base.

History TIME! Bueno como decía, debido a que me gustaban tanto el pelo corto como el largo, ver el corte de Meri me pareció maravilloso, casi podría decir que Karla en aspecto es como una hermana para ella de lo similar que puede parecer, aunque actualmente ya Meri tiene el cabello corto. Pero en su momento era bastante parecido salvo por el orden de las partes pintadas del cabello. Además de que toda la mitad del cabello de Karla está pintada de morado.

I'm glad I recently drew a chibi Karla with the colors I liked the most, since I had less work to do when it was time to start painting with the base colors.

History TIME! Well as I was saying, because I liked both short and long hair, seeing Meri's haircut seemed wonderful to me, I could almost say that Karla in appearance is like a sister to her because of how similar she looks, although nowadays Meri already has short hair. But at the time it was quite similar except for the order of the painted parts of the hair. Plus the whole middle of Karla's hair is painted purple.

Tras terminar de colorear, añadir sombras y etc. Tuve muchos problemas a la hora de hacer la iluminación el cabello.. a mause no es tan divertido hacerlo, tuve que rehacerlo unas 3 veces. Finalmente encontré la versión que me agrado más y ya con eso tocaba el fondo. Ya la forma de la cara los ojos, y el flequillo está más inspirado del arte del manga de Oshi no ko, del personaje Arima Kana para ser más exactos.

A pesar de ser tan similares, en su momento sabía que no estaba dibujando a aquella youtuber ya que simplemente no sabía ni dibujar y solo quería crear un personaje inspirándome mucho en aquella persona la cual idolatraba. termino siendo bastante parecido en un inicio, pero después poco a poco intente que fuese cambiando, mejorando y bueno siendo algo mas original. La sudadera que tiene puesta es mía, lastimosamente ya no la tengo desde hace tiempo. Me gustaba así que como Karla es como una hija dije “ah, me la robo ella y ya”. (obviamente esto es solo para intentar darle un sentido al uso del sueter jsjs)

No fue hasta el 2021 más o menos que volví a hacer el diseño de Karla para que fuese más detallado y mejor, ya que antes no era tan anime y bueno también mi estilo el cual a pesar de no estar perfeccionado si había mejorado y no podía seguir dibujando a Karla a la antigua.

After I finished coloring, adding shadows and so on. I had a lot of problems when it came to lighting the hair... mause it's not so much fun to do it, I had to redo it about 3 times. Finally I found the version that I liked the most and with that I could do the background. Already the shape of the face, the eyes, and the fringe is more inspired by the art of the Oshi no ko manga, of the character Arima Kana to be more exact.

Despite being so similar, at the time I knew I wasn't drawing that youtuber because I simply didn't know how to draw and I just wanted to create a character inspired by that person who I idolized. It ended up being quite similar at first, but then little by little I tried to change it, improving and being something more original. The sweatshirt she is wearing is mine, unfortunately I don't have it anymore since a long time ago. I liked it so as Karla is like a daughter I said "ah, I'll just steal it from her and that's it". (obviously this is just to try to make sense of wearing the sweater jsjs).

It wasn't until 2021 or so that I redid Karla's design to make it more detailed and better, since before it wasn't so anime and well also my style which even though it wasn't perfected it had improved and I couldn't keep drawing Karla the old way.

Bueno, fondo terminado. Tras ver muchas referencias de fondos simples pensé en hacer el típico recuadro coloreado de fondo, solo añadiendo el sombreado y ya. Me gusto bastante el resultado, también añadí una línea blanca alrededor de la silueta de Karla. Sin más, espero que les haya gustado el dibujo y la anécdota. Well, finished background. After seeing many references of simple backgrounds I thought of making the typical background colored box, just adding the shading and that's it. I quite liked the result, I also added a white line around Karla's silhouette. That's all, I hope you liked the drawing and the anecdote. Nobunaga-san says goodbye to you and wishes you a nice day.
