The Ink Well Prompt #87 - Midnight

Hello dear friends,

Today, I wanted to present another story to the challenge of the Ink Well @inkwell which is “Midnight” this time. Also because I wanted to share with you my drawing, that I dedicated to the story.

It is a full moon today and it is also a day when Mark and Lucy decided to visit the haunted house. Everyone in this little village know the story of this house, once on full moon in October the house that is empty the whole year comes to live. This is the day when the family that lived there hundred years ago return, they live one day and this is the day when their souls could be released and let them to find their peace.

Many people tried, but every year the brave inhabitants of that village gone missing once they visit the house and house owners remain caught by the curse of the haunted house.
Slowly people decided to leave the house in peace and forbidden anyone to enter it because they did not want to loose more people. The house was left alone for last 10 years but this year Mark and Lucy two friends heard the story about the house when they were in library preparing for the test. They have heard how the elderly librarian and one of the old lady were chatting about the day when the Haunted House could be released from the curse. Of course, they begged to tell them a story and were excited about that one day when the curse could be lifted. They decided to try and to release the souls of ghosts.

That night Mark and Lucy agreed to meet at the house at midnight, both escaped from their houses. Lucy tries to be quite so that nobody can hear her but when she finally was outside she heard:

• Where are you going? May I come with you?

Only then she noticed her little sister Leah who were already outside in her night gown and also with her little Teddy. Lucy tried to convince Leah that this is not a good idea but that was not possible, so that she agreed to take her only if Leah will not ask any questions and just does what she is told.

So Leah was very excited, night adventure and that is on Full Moon and Midnight, she was the most happiest person in the whole world.
Finally Lucy and Leah arrived to haunted house, Mark was there with his bike, when he saw Leah he was very angry:

• We can’t take care of her!

• I will take care of myself and of my Teddy,- answered Leah

She was so loud, so it was easy to take her and also it was no chance to go back home because it was Midnight. Lucy took Leah’s hand and said:

• We all will take care of ourselves and will try to save the family that is trapped in haunted house. That was their task and they were sure that this time it will be successful.
