Nice job, nice set! I'm a sucker for gouache and I'm blessed with an art supplier whose cheap house brand (6.00 EUR / 500 ml) is made with finest Schmincke pigments. My only problem is to decide between watercolor and gouache. I'll live :-)

P.P.S. RE. self portrait: Try a mix of 1 part gum arabic with 100 parts water to activate your watercolor pencils. Whole new feel. Also, rub watercolor pencils on stone paper palette or rough plastic, activate with the above and paint with brush. Have fun!
