The timing of this challenge has been perfectly aligned with the need for this challenge. My friend, C reminded me the other day that when the student is ready, the teacher appears. I wonder if this challenge is making students out of all of us. Interestingly enough, I had to look up this quote to find out who originally said it - and I found that it is only part of the quote. Apparently the full quote is, "When the student is ready the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready... The teacher will disappear." - Lao Tzu
I'm curious to see what you all think of that quote. I'm also curious to see if you think it applies to us, right now.
The thing I'll most enjoy about this challenge - I hope- are the deeper discussions that will potentially happen in the comment section of these pin-worthy posts. Will we take the time to spin away from the one-sided conversation in the post, and delve into dialogue below? I do hope so.
But this week is all about presenting our topic and sharing how we'll try to use the extra time to bring something different to our usual posts.
My topic is going to be the battle between the physical and the emotional/spiritual, and specifically how my journey has shifted this battle over the years. As far as "extras" to the post, I love using Midjourney to create images, but I am trying to think of something special to do for this. It normally takes me hours to create images - but I can actually take days now - since I have weeks to prepare this! I was also thinking of maybe creating some tables, but - I don't want my post to have too much of a clinical feel. If I do include tables or charts, I'll want to make it something with heart. I was toying with some more ideas to add, but I think if I include too many extras, they might detract from the actual message - so I'm trying to find the balance there.
I'm really looking forward to having time at CWH these next few weeks to work on the images, because I can spend TOO much time on designing. Having an hour dedicated to working on these images each time I attend CWH is going to alleviate some of the guilt over how much time I spend on them! hahaha It's like I have the permission to indulge with a bunch of creatives during that time - and I plan on doing just that!
I'm excited for everyone beginning this week! I hope you all relax into it, and let it flow!!! Don't fight it! hehe Enjoy the process and give yourself time throughout the day to keep revisiting your topic, your ideas, and more! This is really unlike the typical post-per-day process. It might take some time to get used to it, but I hope each of you finds your groove!

Ms. Dreems, I am very much looking forward to following this journey of yours through weeks 1-3 and to your final piece. The way I interpret it, your subject matter is something that challenges every one of us - reconciling our position "to be in the world, but not of the world." When I read your post this evening, it was one of the first things that came to me. I remember hearing it a lot growing up, and it has stayed with me over the years. I always understood generally what it meant but until recently, I did not truly appreciate the context and beauty contained in those words - that this is one of the things Christ prayed about in his final hour with his disciples; a blessing from the Father, for His disciples. I just had to go look up the exact scripture hehe (John 17) The Lord has given us a beautiful creation to enjoy, and we have to live in it but it has also been corrupted by sin. And that is why Jesus asked the Father to protect us while we are in the world. Every day we need to remind ourselves whom we serve and exercise our choice to serve Him only. It is hard. The world is fun! There is temptation to evil... but if we choose well we can still enjoy God's creation as He intended it. Christ said that we may be in the world but, like Him, we are not of the world, nor do we belong to the world. Ultimately, we belong to Him, and that is why we are now protected.
This is an interesting one... Did Jesus leave when his disciples were ready? Apparently so because look where Christianity is today in the world. His work was done. He had to fulfill the scriptures. But the Holy Spirit was left in His place. And did He ever really leave? No, not when we consider that we can reach out to Him in prayer. When we think of earthly teachers, I think we are all on a journey, and at some point, we are all students and teachers. Teachers build bridges to help their students get where they need to go. Over time, their roles may change. I think it depends on whether or not the teacher continues to evolve as the student is taught. If so then the teacher will always have something of value to share with the student. If not, maybe the student outgrows the teacher... But in the situation where the student's knowledge and experience meet up with that of the teacher, in theory, one could argue that the teacher's role could fall to the side, however, one could also argue again that each person's life experience is different. We can continue to sharpen each other even when we feel we have gained the same amount of knowledge... because wisdom and experience are different and sit above that. I can point to a few times in my life when the right teachers arrived when I was ready... always a blessing.

I wasn't still sure of how to go about this week's challenge but it's amazing how I'm more certain about how the next three weeks would go for me and the work I need to put into it. I'm super excited and I hope I'm able to harness my inner energy into creating something I'd be proud of.

I noticed that we can submit our challenge post early ♥️ Definitely a great help for those of us who end up missing a submission :)
I think it means when we are ready to learn, someone will come to guide us. Once we have learned all that we are supposed to from that person, our teacher will move on to help someone else.

This also applies to us in the sense that we are Hive creators (the teachers) with some audience (the students) it's not just about this challenge, posting the start, the steps and implementing the ideas of our hearts, but also the continuity in being creative Hive creators to keep growing our audience and feeding them with valuable content to add value to them.
