Some small posh and lovesniper updates

in OCD2 years ago

I'll keep this post short as we don't have that many big changes this time around but figured it to be important to announce and make sure people are aware we're still focused on these projects and doing the best we can to grow them.

Hope you all had a nice transition into HF26! and yes, contradictory to what exchanges may lead you to believe, the HF went well and it's their issue that deposits or withdrawals aren't opened yet, nothing wrong with the blockchain. (I know Binance likes to shift blame onto the blockchain in these cases always)

POSH

We've made some changes to the distribution of POSH tokens for tweets, although we like to keep these changes private to avoid people attempting to maximize earnings by faking impressions through like and retweet-trading and botting up certain accounts to do that, you can rest assured that it's still fair and enough people know about them to prevent us from taking advantage of it ourselves in any way. Do keep in mind that even though we may not have enough reasons to straight up ban you for your mis-activity, we do notice some shady behaviour every now and then and it will in the long run affect you negatively for trying to take shortcuts for short-term gains, much like most things on Hive in general.

After the change to 50/50 POSH issuance between delegators and sharers we thought we should also make the HP in the @poshtoken account that we've been growing count as a delegator itself. The difference here is that those POSH the @poshtoken account earns for its HP will count towards the tokens we're putting aside for future distributions through other methods along with tokens we've bought back. It's too early to say as nothing concrete has been decided yet, but let's just say POSH may start getting deflationary at some point. It's not just something we've decided to artificially make it more scarce but in the beginning when we created POSH we set up a 1m supply max cap that we can't bypass so we'll have to look into how the token will progress. At that point in time we thought the future of POSH may not always be on hive-engine but looking at how things are today, a couple years later, it doesn't seem like there are any great competitors yet that are offering much advantages for a move and on top of it hive-engine has since become more decentralized which may be reason enough for us to stay on there.

Lovesniper

With lovesniper and the recent hardfork, we're going to be working on a way to delegate RC towards accounts we deem to be genuine enough for our lovesniper activity. Easiest way to handle this will most likely be to utilize the way we run the lovesniper account right now to make it easy to delegate and undelegate RC when it's no longer required.

For instance, currently, we have curators taking turns daily to check the posts of new accounts out, give them some advice and if they seem genuine and unique, they will then follow the account with lovesniper. Then we have another initiative that curates the lovesniper feed to make sure the next posts of these users are curated and further guidance occurs, most of it being about communities and how to properly use and find them so retention may go up of these newcomers. An issue that existed in the past where it was a bit hard to trust new accounts, aside from giving them smaller votes than we would've liked to to avoid abuse growing rampant because of that and on top of it if we had offered Hivepower delegations it could've escalated. Now thanks to hardfork 26 we can delegate RC in a much more risk-tolerant way and make sure genuine and legit newcomers have enough bandwidth to use Hive as much as they like. Once those users have gotten going well enough, earned some Hivepower, made a few posts and integrated into different communities, we will unfollow them with the lovesniper account which in turn will cause our (yet to be created bot) to undelegate the RC from them to make room for new users and of course to continue claim account credit tokens which may have gone up in cost a lot after the hardfork.

With that said, if you like what we are doing, here's some shilling of what you can do with your hivepower or RC if you have too much and aren't actively using it. Although there's no way for people to delegate RC easily right now, I'm sure our front-ends or other projects such as rc-angel by @deathwing will enable it in the near future.

Delegating to @poshtoken gives you some daily POSH rewards, 250 divided by the HP you delegate compared to everyone else delegating and compared to the @poshtoken account's HP. This was enabled as a way for people to "invest" in the token if they want to be part of it but aren't able to buy too much at once from the markets or earn it by being active on Twitter. Instead of having to daily keep an eye out and a buy order in they can now just delegate and earn some daily automatically. Rest assured that the Hivepower it earns has always and will always only be used to either grow the account a bit more which it has done so far, but eventually it might start using it towards further development, marketing or continued buy back of POSH. I.e. the project is community funded by delegations, beneficiaries and post rewards and will remain that way having had a fair airdrop without a ninja-mine, pre-mine, team allocation, etc. Only sharers who earned POSH points received an airdrop and ever since then it's mostly just been bought up by others who wanted to support the token or speculate long term.

Delegating to @ocdb will get you daily curation returns in liquid Hive minus a small fee. On top of that this will allow us to create more accounts that we currently offer to @hiveonboard which many projects on Hive make use of and people with referral links, it's open to anyone as long as you don't attempt to abuse it to create many accounts for yourself. Hiveonboard places a small % of beneficiary rewards to go to 1. Hiveonboard, 2. the account credit giver (@ocdb) and 3. the referrer (if there is any), this means that the more new accounts are created and the more they are active and receiving curation without removing those default beneficiaries, the more rewards go towards @ocdb which in the end go back to its delegators. Aside from that anyone sending beneficiaries to @ocdb on their own accord to support our manual and in many ways decentralized curation process, will also rest assured that those rewards will go back to the delegators to make it as profitable as possible for them considering our project doesn't attempt to maximize rewards by always voting on the first day if we happen to see some great posts that have been missed and underrewarded, etc.

Thanks for reading and your continued support so far. Hive has been, in my opinion, doing quite well during this bear market and hopefully it'll be our time to shine soon compared to the 99% of crypto projects without any real innovation, scaling, growth or utility.

Awesome changes. Thanks for explaining the advantages I delegating of HP to posh. I really hopes the posh tokens trend in Twitter though. It would be nice.

Love the lovesniper changes too. When I was a newbie, it really helped me with advices. Hope it helps others.

Awesome Changes in both... Personally liked that Lovesniper RC delegating part it will really Maximize the interest for newbies to interact more with the hive Blockchain.

And sounds Like a Great plan for posh!

Great additions and changes. I really look into POSH evolution..! What you’re doing is a really interesting experiment :)

I’ve to get a bit more into that RC’s délégation as I’ve never be enough « technical »...

Thanks for reading and your continued support so far. Hive has been, in my opinion, doing quite well during this bear market and hopefully it'll be our time to shine soon compared to the 99% of crypto projects without any real innovation, scaling, growth or utility.

Again, thanks you for your dedication here, and for the other part of this paragraph, I’m totally convinced, each day more than the previous, about the unlimited capacities of this blockchain !

Have a nice weekend :D

These updates sound like new opportunities for growth and as someone new to Hive, it's refreshing to see a team dedicated to making sure new members stay

@ocdb and @lovesniper have been responsive and encouraging to explore communities so I'll definitely be posting more original content for curation 🙌🏽 Other social media sites don't offer these types of encouragement 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hive engine is a good place to build and grow the POSH project. Can't wait to delegate hp to start earning more posh token.

Twitter is a marketing platform for hive and POSH has made it even more possible and only a matter of time scenerio to trend #Hive on twitter in the future

I am not a cryptocurrency specialist nor do I have much HP but I want to delegate how would I do?

Another thing I don't know if I understood correctly if you want to collaborate with your curation project can I place @ocdb as a beneficiary?

Can you please answer my doubts

You can use @peakd or @ecency to easily delegate on your wallet page.

Placing ocdb as beneficiary only sends it rewards to give back to delegators, it doesn't give you any extra perks or higher chances for curation. It's just something some people can do if they feel they get rewarded too much or their posts aren't as time consuming and high effort as their usual ones and want to disgard part of the rewards.

I'm going to check my wallet to see if I learn to delegate.

Well I'm not one to receive so many rewards 🙈🙈🙈🙈 but I already understood the purpose of the recipients thank you so much for taking a minute of time to respond blessings 🙏

Good to see this changes with posh, I'll be delegating to the project when I have more HP.

This hardfork is a great progress for all Hivers

It's true that Hive-Engine has become more decentralized since then. Which may be reason enough to stay there. Hopefully in the future Posh and PoshToken accounts will become more powerful and help the Hive Engine to be more decentralized.

Good to see the changes moving fast.
Don't forget Sir what your username on discord ?

Thanks for the update.
Hive in general has been all up and running. It feels good to keep diving deeper into this ecosystem ❤️
