A Walk Completed With Peacocks - MyPictureDay Submission

in OCD4 years ago (edited)

The recent relaxation of the harsh protection measures against this virus that changed our lives took me to the largest and most beautiful park in Bucharest. Herastrau! Recently, the name of the park was changed, from Herastrau to King Mihai. An initiative of the City Hall. Unhappy initiative in my opinion. The inhabitants of the city are too accustomed to the old name to accept a new one.

The first part of my trip through the big park, through familiar places because I made hundreds of walks but still changed by the events of this year. That is, after a long break in which the park was closed.

I think that this time when this huge garden was devoid of human presence was very useful for restoring nature. The grass left to grow unknowingly, the untouched trees and a lot of rain I think was a kind of heaven ...

The entrance to the park is bordered by a statue of a seagull, a bird that lives near and on the sea. The sea is 200 km away. When the statue was made, there were no seagulls in Bucharest. But now there are many. It seems like a premonition.

Entering the park and passing by some terraces, as a place of fun and relaxation must be places to drink or eat and even rest.

There was a line on the alleys of the parks, a line for bicycles and scooters and even for running.

Those like me, walkers, are a little disturbed and uncomfortable by those who run among us. However, I understand the need for people to do sports and the park is a very good place for such activities.

I used to take pictures all the time when I walk, when I visit something. When I'm allowed to, I'm often in places where I can't take pictures because of the bans, and that upsets me.

Every day is for me My Picture Day! Today My Picture Day is in the park. I observe and photograph everything that appears to me that deserves attention and that can be a photo report ...

There is no park without children. Mothers and children. I tried to photograph as discreetly as possible because people are suspicious and fear that the photographer's intentions may be dubious.

Of course, the phone. Since we can carry it with us, it has kind of stolen our lives and free time.

IMG_20200529_120826.jpg

For me, the park means first of all a sea of green. Rest of the eyes and peace of mind.

Of course, a park is not enough if there is no lake. There is a lake here. I love water in the form of rivers, lakes and oceans but I am afraid of it. A pleasure mixed with fear.

Flowers, flowers are an indispensable ingredient in parks. The most beautiful flowers that you can't pass without trying to steal their image. To enjoy later.

These walks in the park are quite predictable considering that I have done them so many times. Fortunately, sometimes I come across a unique situation that gives uniqueness to each walk and that is why I can differentiate My Picture Days.

This time a special bird made the difference. A bird of a beauty that enchants you but also frightens you with its cry. I can't associate that scary song with the multitude of colors that gather in her feathers ...

Hi, what a coincidence my walk in the park was yesterday and I keep some photos so I will try to put them since you have invited me and it is a pleasure for me.
the turkey is beautiful they always are and scandalous like seagulls, you caught it in full shine of its feathers.
There is only one here this year and it is very boastful haha. what a coincidence of turkeys hahaha
Happy Tuesday

It is beautiful place to visit and relax among so much green.

Yes, it's nice. I'm thinking of your park where you can see the sea (is that so?).

Yes, our big park stretches alongside the sea. During the lockdown the park was closed.
Now it is opened but I have no time to go there.

Wow! You don't have time?
I hope you can make time for a walk.

If I am not in the office, I am working from home and I do walks in the small park in our living area.

I understand now. Let's hope things return to normal as soon as possible.

Yeah, I hope so. I am glad you are OK. Keep safe.

Great post with great photos. That peacocks are stunning. Thanks for sharing.

I have to thank you for reading. Thanks!

The park which is photogenic no matter what the season or weather is! I used to go running in this place or just stay next to the lake and read to relax my mind :)

It is also my favorite park, especially outside of the weekend. I'm glad you liked it too. Thank you for taking the time to read!
