in OCD5 years ago

Hello friends,

Hope you all are well.
Today I am going to introduce you a historic place of Kolakopa where stands a nice palace. The name of the palace is Raadha Naath Shah palace. It is situated in Kolakopa union of Nowabgonj police station under Dhaka district.

The palace was established in between the year of 1825-1835. This house was built by Nobo Kumar Shah, the father of Nagendra Kumar Shah. Later it was named Raadha Naath Shah palace. He was a big merchant of this area during that period of time. He was an influential person of this area and maintained good relationships with the local Jamidars(land lord). This building was constructed beside a river considering the natural beauty of it. The name of the river is Issmoti. This is a big river. The building was built such a way that you can get full view of river from the balcony of the building.

Yesterday I visited this historical place and took some pictures of it. I will be sharing those pictures throughout this writing.

This building was built considering the aesthetic sense. You will find different art in the whole building. Just below the rooftop some artistic work is clearly visible. Though it is two storied building, the size of each floor is quite high considering the current construction. They also kept an emergency exit of the building.

This building is currently owned by another influential person called Pokraj. He purchased this building from the earlier owner. After that, he renovated the building keeping the main structure as original. This is now a tourist spot and park. He named it Adnan Palace.

It is quite a big area. The building is in the middle of this large area. You will find many beautiful statues inside the area. The statues were made focusing on the animals. You will see many animals statues here. There is a beautiful fairy statue as well.

To go inside you have to buy a entry ticket. The price of ticket is Taka 20(local currency) for each person. Besides the architectural beauty you can also enjoy the nature from here. Inside the area there are beautiful plants and trees.

How can you go to this place?
The communication is very easy from the capital city Dhaka. It’s a twenty kilometres drive from Dhaka City. You can either choose a bus or private car. If you go by private car, you can go directly to the place. If you go by bus, it will drop you Nobabgonj bus stop. From there you can take a three wheeler. It will take you to the spot.
From Dhaka the bus fare to Nobabgonj is only 50 local currency.

If you want to stay there, there are some small hotels in the Nobabgonj bus stop. I can name one or two like Kolakopa guests house. The fare is also reasonable. You can stay one night with 1000-1500 local currency.

Last but not the least, we have many beautiful places in our country like this. Just need to explore those. Here all the pictures were captured using my iPhone 11 Pro Max mobile phone. Thanks for stopping by.
