Favourites from My Toilet Collection

in OCD3 years ago

Toilets are something we all see, experience, and look for sometimes. When you think about it, you’ll realise that you have a taste in toilets; everyone does! There are some ups and downs about them, we like them one way and we don’t like them when they’re out of our taste!

History

The first trace of toilets is seen in Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley in 3000 BC., and later in Crete and Mycenaean civilizations. During the Akkadian Kingdom period in Mesopotamia, a toilet similar to modern toilets was found in noble large buildings. This example with a horseshoe seat is the prototype of the toilet bowl known today. The currently, widely used modern toilet was designed by Sir John Harington in 1596. However, Harington could not put his invention into mass production due to being ridiculed in England.

Toilets are mutual value of all humans today. It even has its own day: World Toilet Day (19th of November)! They are in different shapes in different cultures, different sizes according to places, even diverse using methods, which is fascinating to me!

And it’s not always the easiest thing to built, architecturally! That’s why I like to take a photo of them when they’re funny, weird, interesting :)

Here is a couple favourites from my collection:
